For James Corden, opening up about his diet has meant challenging notions of what it means to be a man.
“I do think as a man it’s historically seen as it isn’t very sexy to say that you’re on a diet. Or it’s not very manly somehow to want to make changes in your own health because men drink beer and we go out and it doesn’t matter what you look like, all those things,” the 42-year-old Corden said Saturday morning to Oprah Winfrey during her WW Your Life in Focus virtual event. “And ...

On January 26th 2021 my film, Like, a feminist noir thriller, debuted on Apple TV, Amazon Prime and others. It has been a long and winding road just to get to the end of the beginning. Part 1 of my article, published in July, details my voyage into the opaque world of film distribution and the ever-evolving influence of streaming, which had for years been diminishing independent film theatrical box office. But then, of course, live audiences were near-obliterated when Covid-19 lockdowns shuttered theaters. In other words, the theatrical exhibition experience was all but gone until who knows when. I […]

The Super Bowl is usually a big chance for Hollywood studios to hype up their blockbusters for the coming year by spending millions on ad time for new trailers and footage. But with the Covid-19 pandemic still hanging over the industry, particularly big-screen releases, many studios and streamers are sitting this year out.
Representatives for Warner Bros., Sony Pictures and Paramount have told TheWrap that their studios will not have any ad presence during the big showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers this Sunday. On the streamer side, HBO Max, Netflix and Hulu will also be on the sidelines.
Disney, on the other hand, is again planning a big spend — both for big-screen releases as well as projects on its Disney+ streaming service. The company is expected to air ads for the MCU’s next two series “Falcon and the Winter Soldier” and “Loki,” which will...

Come on, let’s do it again. Peter Frampton’s Do You Feel Like I Do? A Memoir brings it all back when you can’t remember who’s wine, what wine, and where the hell you may have dined while living the life of a working rock star.
Written by Frampton with Alan Light, Peter comes alive on the pages of Do You Feel Like I Do? A Memoir. He’s been in you, and now he’s letting you in. Hachette Books will release the book on Oct. 20. The stories are all first-hand accounts from the innovative guitarist himself. And he’s not using that talking box either. He got that effect, by the way, while he was playing sessions with country music’s premiere pedal steel guitarist, Pete Drake, for George Harrison‘s 1970 album All Things Must Pass. He liked the sound of Drake’s innovation so...

I grew up in the era of the body-swap movie, the 1980s, where a resurgence in the genre led to films like Big, Vice Versa, 18 Again, Like Father Like Son, and my personal favourite (and one of my Top 5 films of all time) Dream a Little Dream. Since then there have been a myriad of such films, be they family friendly like 13 Going on 30 and the Lindsay Lohan-starring Freaky Friday remake; to more raunchy fare like The Change-Up and The Hot Chick… Most have one thing in common: the characters within learn from the situation. Switched is no different, however never have I ever experienced a body swap film like this one.

“Clemency” director Chinonye Chukwu is set to direct a feature film drama about the lynching of 14-year-old Emmett Till and how his mother Mamie Till Mobley worked to help start a civil rights movement in the aftermath of his death.
This year marks the 65th anniversary of the 1955 death of Till, and Chukwu’s film will be based on the research of documentary filmmaker Keith Beauchamp, who spent 27 years investigating the kidnapping, torture and murder of Till for whistling at a white woman. Beauchamp’s work culminated in getting the Department of Justice to reopen the case in 2004.
His research is the basis of the screenplay that he co-authored along with Chukwu and Michael J. P. Reilly. Beauchamp developed a relationship with Mobley and Till’s cousin Simeon Wright, who was an eyewitness to Till’s kidnapping and served as a consultant on the project before his death in 2017. And...
