- Callie: [coyly] Are you guys talking about my birthday?
- Detective Pearce: Hey, Little Miss Snoopy Pants, mind your own business. Put your shoes on. Go on. The bus is gonna be here soon.
- [Callie pokes her tongue out at Pearce. Pearce pokes his tongue out at her back]
- Detective Pearce: I didn't do anything wrong, did I?
- Jessica: I can't go back in time.
- Detective Pearce: I know, but how do I fix things?
- Ethan Bell: How else are us lower class supposed to get justice? With a system that's so corrupt, that you cops get away with murder?
- Detective Pearce: [pointing his gun at Ethan] You see, there you go again, pops. You're pulling the race card, okay? I'm not a racist. I just call it the way I see it, and I see a lot, day in and day out. Hearing excuses coming from every direction, blaming the system for all your problems, as I walk down the street, waiting to get shot in the back, waiting for one of your little knives to stick me with a needle while I protect you from yourselves. It's got nothing to do with color. A spade is a spade.
- Dom Bell: Hm, is that so? You are a racist, man. You can't even call it for what it is.
- Callie: Mommy, are you okay?
- Jessica: Of course I'm okay. Why would you ask that?
- Callie: Because you won't let Papa come home.
- Jessica: Papa just needs his own time right now.
- Callie: Did Papa do something wrong? Is that why you're mad at him?
- Jessica: I'm not mad at Papa. He's mad at himself.
- Callie: [giggling] How can you be mad at yourself?
- Jessica: I hope you never have to find out.
- Sienna: [listening to the car radio] Oh, I love this jam. My sister and I used to make dance routines and perform them for our parents, and this was one of them.
- Dom Bell: My brothers and I used to do that same thing. Yeah, Dam was always the lead singer, and he'd make Trey and I be his backup dancers.
- [They smile, but their smiles fade as they remember Trey's murder. Sienna caresses Dom's face]
- Sienna: So, you got some moves?
- Dom Bell: Yeah. Yeah, I got some moves.
