Climactic, cult-y, with a few twists
spasticfreakshow20 September 2018
If this season finale ends up being the series finale, it's a great ending, if not fairy tale perfect. I definitely would like to see some of the mother/daughter issues and catatonic wrongs corrected, if possible, but perhaps in June's case, that no longer will be, so it is a bit hard to imagine the story moving forward. As typical of a finale, this was the most worthwhile and fast-paced episode, with plenty of pay-off for loyal viewers, and most of the twists were not at all expected. As with several of the episodes, this one was particularly noteworthy in the cinematography department. Yes, the setting is a gorgeous remote area of Norway - but the cameramen really caught that in the background of every scene possible, for maximum effect, amidst the non-stop suspense. The cult-ish elements combined for a unique approach to a fantasy story, which I think is the more appropriate genre, all things considered, than sci-fi. Worth watching the series for this ending.
