The fountain with dogs shown in 'Paris' is located in Berczy Park, Toronto, Canada. The fountain, by landscape architect Claude Cormier, was added to the park in 2017. It features 27 cast iron dogs, one rather scared cat, and a large bone.
Despite taking place in Chicago, much of the film was shot in Toronto, Canada. During the scene when they are in the dinosaur museum, that is in fact the Royal Ontario Museum in downtown Toronto.
A sequel "My Spy : The Eternal City" had completed filming in May 2023, but has no published release date.
The balcony scene is a reference to Spy Game (2001). That scene where Robert Redford's character asks Brad Pitt's character if he knew anybody in 'this apartment house' and tells him to be up on one of the balconies in five minutes is from a book by former Mossad agent Victor Ostrovsky who describes this test as part of the training of a Mossad agent.
When JJ is fighting at the airfield in front of a running engine, Bobbie is monitoring the conflict back at their base of operation. She comments that the whole scene is very familiar, it's just lacking some Nazis! She's referring to the scene in the first Indiana Jones movie when Harrison Ford has to fight a Nazi guard in front of a running engine.
