Sacha Baron Cohen is set to star in a new Netflix limited series called The Spy. While Cohen is mostly known for taking on comedic roles, this is more of a dramatic series.
The Spy tells the story of Eli Cohen, "a spy for Israel in Syria in the early 1960s. Cohen managed to embed himself into Syrian high society and rise through the ranks of their politics. His actions, connections, ultimately his death have had lasting consequences, shaping the Middle East as it is today."
It seems like it's been a long time since I've seen Cohen in anything. The most recent thing he was a part of was the Netflix special Seth Rogen’s Hilarity for Charity. The last movie that I remember seeing him in was the spy comedy The Brothers Grimsby opposite Mark Strong.
The Spy will consist of six-episodes and it will be interesting to...

Seth Rogen‘s “Hilarity for Charity” annual fundraising event has been going on since 2012, but the most recent installment, recorded live in front of an audience last month in Los Angeles is its most high profile yet. Filmed over the course of one night and released this week on Netflix, it’s a variety show with some of the biggest names in the comedy world. With a deceptive amount of ambition and a strong, varied lineup, it’s a strange, sweet jumble of comedy that’s unabashedly a perfect fit for the algorithm.
The time may already have come when it’s impossible for anything comedy-related on Netflix to not take a swipe at someone in the Netflix family. After years of expansion and acquisition and with a renewed effort to draw new creators under his umbrella, it seems like at this point Netflix will always be in a position...

A day after announcing that it has acquired Seth Rogen, Netflix has released the trailer for the actor and comedian’s “Hilarity for Charity.” The stand-up special, which raises funds for Alzheimer’s awareness, was co-founded by Rogen’s wife, Laura Miller, in 2012. Watch the trailer below.
It isn’t just Rogen who appears onstage: Tiffany Haddish, Sarah Silverman, Michelle Wolf, John Mulaney, Michael Che, David Chang, Ike Barinholtz, Chelsea Peretti, Kumail Nanjiani, Jon Lovitz, Jeff Goldblum, Sacha Baron Cohen, Nick Kroll, Post Malone, Chris Hardwick, and Craig Robinson & The Nasty Delicious all feature as well.
“I’ve reached my threshold on dick jokes,” Rogen says onstage before catching himself. “I’m joking — there’s way more dick jokes.”
In its April Fools’ Day joke about “acquiring” Rogen, Netflix described the event as “the first project where Netflix was able to successfully extract comedy directly from the actor’s mind.

During Stormy Daniels’ “60 Minutes” interview in which she described details of her affair with Donald Trump, the former adult film actress mentioned she had disclosed to multiple friends at the time her relationship with the current President. Seth Rogen appeared on “Ellen” to promote his upcoming “Hilarity for Charity” special on Netflix and ended up corroborating Daniels’ story during his visit.
Rogen explained that he was once friends with Daniels after she made brief appearances in “Knocked Up” and “The 40-Year-Old Virgin,” two movies directed by Judd Apatow that helped launch his career. The actor said Daniels did not hide her sexual encounter with Trump when asked if she had slept with anyone notable.
“I’ve known Stormy Daniels a long time and I’ll be honest — she may have mentioned some of this stuff around 10 years ago,” Rogen told Ellen. “At the time, when you ask a porn...
