Who Do I Root For?
Anonnamus5 May 2020
It's strange to watch a show where I can't figure out who I'm rooting for. On one hand, Reddington is a murderer and the FBI's Most Wanted, but he is an anti-hero who has never taken the life of someone who probably deserved it. Spader is a master at this. However, as much as I want him to win, I want Elizabeth Keen to lose...and since Reddington has made it his life's mission to protect her, I grudgingly have to root for Elizabeth. To this day, I still have no idea what it is about her that inspires loyalty from everyone around her, as she rarely shows the same unless it benefits her. She's selfish and clearly cares for no one but herself and her agenda, regardless of the innocents who could possibly get hurt. Sympathetic character, she is definitely not. Fantastic episode and amazing use of music, something The Blacklist has always been proficient in. Ian Garvey got what he deserved, I only wish Elizabeth Keen were a character I could clearly want to see with a good ending.

Very entertaining, but

Red is correct, he has a right to his privacy/a secret. It's not his fault that Tom went after it and thus crossed Garvey's path, which got him killed. We are all entitled to our secrets, and even those closest to us are not entitled to know them.

I'm finding, like other reviewers, that Liz's demands and tantrums are wearing pretty thin. It's good for the drama that she is not just a "white hat" but a flawed human being, but it still irritates me. Then again this show is all about a lack of boundaries!

I loved Fiona Dourif in Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, so I look forward to seeing more of her here.

An episode that does everything it had set out to accomplish, 'Ian Garvey: Conclusion' successfully closes a major plot line whilst introducing real moral dilemmas in swift and compelling ways with some exciting plot twists along the way. This is a surprising episode about brilliant plans gone wrong that elevates the overall quality of Season 5 and it features thrilling yet solidly crafted action sequences fans will enjoy, as well as some nice character development.

Warning: Spoilers
Once again Liz sticking her nose in something it doesn't belong. Boy it sure gets old after 5 seasons of it. Only reason ton died because of red's secret is he stuck his nose in where it didn't belong.... Just because he died doesn't mean Liz has a right to know the secret

They did it again

I'm surprised this was not the season finale - I was expecting it to build up to this episode. It did what some other finales did as well - bring all stories from the previous season together. Or well, most of them anyway. It gave me a little more appreciation for some of the episodes we've seen since the first Garvey episode.

This episode perfectly demonstrates why fiction is so great. The plan they have here is quite absurd and would in reality very likely be impossible, but within its universe it works. I also like how they gave a spin to it, where you instantly think you know what they're up to, but it turns out to be something else.

Red and Dembe arrived at the dealing point, Garvey (imposter/Anthony) admits that he killed Singleton. Dembe and Red got in a gun fight, Garvey (imposter/Anthony) shot down Mosadek he died instantly. Red ubducted Ian Garvey, he wants to know where the bones are stashed. Garvey crashed the car when Red and Dembe hold him hostage, he escaped. Ian goes to Lillian her work (Pete's Tavern) and steals money. Liz points a gun to Ian Garvey, Red arrived and Liz points a gun on him. It has been revealed that Lillian her real name is Jennifer. Ian shot down Red, Liz and Dembe shot down Ian Garvey he died at the hospital. One of the best episodes of The Blacklist of all time this was so good, after the first part of Ian Garvey i thought how can you make a part what is on the same level.

God, She Is Sickening
Hitchcoc27 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Once again, Elizabeth's mental illness comes to the fore. She is so wrapped up in dealing with Tom's killer that she would sell out any of her friends to find out. Does it ever occur to her that he is a gangster on the A List who consorts with the worst of the worst and finally gets his. Yes, she is Reddington's daughter (her savior about a hundred times), blah, blah, blah. Does she think at any level Reddington can to be dealt with like a normal human being? He has told her over and over to let go and mind her own business. There she is with her pretty face and he stocking cap, facing off against Ian Garvey, trying to find out what's in the duffle bag. Then there's her sister (who says Red left her and her mother over 25 years ago. Personally, I wish they could do sophisticated cases in this show and throw Elizabeth off a bridge, like Mr. Kaplan. Now we have more of the season and she is going to be around to screw more up. At the very least she disobeys orders and should lose her FBI status.

Secrets
GoldenGooner0426 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I've got a secret I can't explain As for the height issue, how do magicians work things change while you look at them, but the brain refuses to notice them If Ian walked in with his presence, would your brain suddenly think "he has got taller" he must be a double, a fake, a clone Nope cause you would think your eyes are playing tricks on you. Have you heard of hiding in plain sight As for why Liz deserves to know, HELLO People, her husband got killed for that bag. Cause she has a right to know as we do, and I'm still dam waiting.

The new sister No and No and NO.

Went here to read hateful reviews, and in the lack of such decided to write one.

Warning: Spoilers
Too much. Just too much. My 6 starts are only for the main plot. There is always a risk of letting an additional storyline to overweight the main story. And I was ok with this Elizabeth's tantrum in the previous seasons because there was the only possible reason which is "first experience". And now without that even me can't justify the character's reasons. I'm very loyal and grateful audience. But can you imagine something like this in real life? Your husband got killed in cold blood in front of your eyes, then you spent 10 months in a coma, other people get killed. Even a stupid person should have acquired some epiphany. But the further along we are following the story the stupider Elizabeth becomes.

But still, the main story unfolding very cool, and since it's a story about Raymond and his blacklist I'm not bothered too much by the character of Elizabeth.

Garvey is less tall then reddington

reddingtons double is taller than himself

so his double is an obvious amount taller than the real one, his goons obviously would have noticed.
