Ok after having watched about 5 episodes of this I realised what makes it enjoyable: it is a great parody about superhero genre. The main character Hakan finds it hard to believe in all the superhero stuff about his destiny, how he is the ultimate 'protector', how he needs to prioritise finding the 'immortal' over everything else (including sleeping with hot women) etc. etc. I would not be convinced either for his destiny seems to be a lousy one: saving the city from the 'Immortal' who is just out there to annihilate it for no reason at all, but seems to be taking his time and wont unleash his powers until the Protector arrives??? The 'Protector', Hakan is a very Turkish character upon whom this Western superhero genre is forced and what makes the show enjoyable and funny is how he keeps questioning the nonsense of it all. Unfortunately this is all lost in the atrocious translation -all the nuances, the jokes etc. are completely wiped out. I would not bother watching it with subtitles. If you want mindless fun, and understand the language, have a go at it.

Great show, fabulous promotion of Istanbul beauty. Cagatay Ulusoy is THE RISING STAR, the way his emotions are expressed on his face... Amazing! Also, i liked Hazar Ergüçlü very much, she did a great job of playing the tough girl. I binge-watched all 10 episode for a single night! Can't wait for seasons 2, 3 and 4 (if rumors are true)!
Çagatay Ulusoy the most talented and versatile actor în the world!💖

I can t wait to see season 2 of Protector!💖Protector is a great show with a great storyline and most important thing is that the main character Çagatay Ulusoy is a young and fantastic actor who amazed me since I have seen Feriha ,Medcezir,Içerde,Delibal and Anatolu Kartallari!!!
Not bad

The photography, the location, the acting all pretty good. Very entertaining series. We arequite happy with it.
We watched dubbed in English: amazing! We also watched with the English subtitles, and they were quite clumsy in comparison. Often the meaning of both was off, but the flow of the spoken English was great. The voice actors and the merging with the background sounds seemed original (if the lips had been syncing.) Bravo to the English dubbing.
The plot in this first season was quite reasonable. The primary actor's actions were pretty good, but sometimes almost comically childish. The other actors parts were primarily reasonable.

Unbelievably bad dialogue

Very slow start - just needed to watch the last 15 minutes to get the gist. I don't mind the English language dubbing, but the dialogue is atrocious - cringe worthy. I will persevere through at least one more episode but how they could make Hakam's character, who is expected to be the Protector, to react like such an idiot, is incredulous. I'm sure the author (if there is one), would be really annoyed with the screen writer. It has potential, but if Hakam's as a character doesn't improve and the dialogue doesn't lift itself up to at least B grade, I'll be flagging the remaining episodes.
