Very nuanced

You might take to mean boring. Or you might take it to mean subtle. Not a lot happens in this film. A family reunites in a small English coastal town. The mother ran away to France with one of her two daughters. She returns and they try to get along. Meanwhile, a stranger shows up and courts both sisters. It was enjoyable, especially seeing the beautiful English countryside. Not a horrible way to spend an hour and a half. But just don't expect a whole lot of action.

Boring In The Morning, more like.
As occasionally fun as it was watching rubbish British actors struggle with French accents on the English coast for the best part of 83 minutes, I can't really recommend this well-meaning but ultimately rather tedious and directionless film.

Everyone in it wound me up with their fake line-readings and stupid pointless conversation, and I NEVER want to hear the name 'Marielle' said ever again considering it's ridiculous repetition here (said in the aforementioned utterly inauthentic accents) .

There's constant skinny-dipping scenes for some reason (not to worry for all you prudes out there, you don't see anything), an annoying little girl who clearly was the niece of the director or something to get her part and a 'love story' which arrives out of nowhere and... disappears just as quickly.

What a waste of money, time and... nice weather on the seaside. If there was any karma in the world, it would've rained every day during the making of this borefest. Hard. 2/10.
