Despite being a French film, only aired in France some 10 months after premiering on Swiss TV.
Upon its initial airing in France, the film was immediately followed by a 75 minute long debate on the right of self-defense, titled "Légitime Défense: jusqu'où peut-on aller pour se défendre?" ("Self-Defense: how far can we go to defend ourselves?"), moderated by Julian Bugier and directed by Philippe Lallemant.
While fictional, the film was inspired by the September 11th 2013 robbery of a jewelry store in Nice by two armed young men. As they were fleeing on a scooter, the store's owner, Stephan Turk, grabbed his gun, came out and shot at the robbers, killing one, 19 year old Anthony Asli, on the spot. In the high profile case that followed, Turk was eventually sentenced to five years of suspended imprisonment.
