Sex & Nudity

  • Several nude scenes throughout the series. See notes on episodes.
  • A woman has a flashback to being sexually assaulted by soldiers, it's a brief scene without any explicit nudity or sexual acts but depicted as deeply distressing to the victim.
  • Several women appear bare-breasted and one woman is shown fully naked during a scene where she's arrested and interrogated, some men are depicted as partially naked but all men have their genitals covered by cloth or hidden by things in the scenery.
  • A woman gets groped and has her skirt pulled at by different men in some scenes.
  • Some sex scenes and several sexual comments in the dialogue.
  • Some of the monks are implied to have had sexual relationships with one another, but no homosexual acts are shown on screen.

  • Several scenes show people in pain and distress, being tortured or threatened with torture. Some scenes of chained people being tortured with hot pliers.
  • A woman sees an entire town killed by the inquisition, men, women and children lying dead in the streets and a woman tied to a burning stake screaming in agony in the middle of the scene.
