"Jon who?" probably was the thought of many film buffs when Jon Watts name was chosen to helm the reboot of Sony's Spider-Man franchise, this time around with Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spidey.
Look back, and we had Sam Raimi director of the first trilogy and he had an impressive background before 2001's "Spider-Man" (with the likes of "Darkman" and "A Simple Plan"); Marc Webb followed him but he had one big film before "The Amazing Spider-Man". The unknown Mr. Watts had plenty of minor works and then a surprise thriller with Kevin Bacon was the thing that got people's attention.
So, this dvd extra presents director Jon Watts from the perspectives of some of the stars of "Spider-Man: Homecoming", and you know the drill about saying great complimentary things about the maker, how he conducts his work on the set; but in the other extras you get to see, hear and know him better. It's a harmless short film, serves its purpose and we're grateful for the studio's choice in hiring the man for the job - he did a great movie and made all the right choices, from casting to the visuals. 6/10
