Once Again, the Population Act Like Idiots
Hitchcoc19 April 2018
Sometimes I wonder if Martin should just let people die off. They ignore his medical instructions, act irrationally, and are often just stupid. We have the return of that idiot veterinarian who was supposed to keep the dog. She is using medicines that are prescribed for animals to treat human ailments. We also have a couple of self-proclaimed artists who are totally out to lunch, almost leading to the death of one of them. The most interesting character is a precocious boy who annoys everyone, but is smarter than most of them. Joe Penhale once again makes a fool of himself and, as is often the case, almost lets a person die. We have the continuing saga of the Larges and Mrs. Tishell continues to talk to her dead husband. Martin's foibles seem more and more mainstream all the time.

Scarlet Fever...and a stupid vet
planktonrules31 May 2019
While I really enjoy "Doc Martin", I must admit that the show has a weakness...too many of the people in the town are complete morons. Week after week, plots depend on people being idiots and doing stupid things like self-medicating or avoiding the doctor when they are dreadfully ill. In this episode, the idiot of the day is the vet...a woman who is surprisingly daft considering her craft. It all starts when her nephew is diagnosed with Scarlet Fever. The Doc suspects she has an illness as well...and so naturally she ignores him and nearly kills herself.

Other plots in this one are the way the local chemist is NOT coping with her husband's death, Louisa's continuing to take classes at the local college and an artist with an eye injury...and his sicker wife.

Overall, pretty much the usual sort of thing....tough to write about it when there have been as many episodes as this show has had.
