Great story about letting go
tonyamskoog18 December 2020
Loved Catia Ojeda's performance, very honest, genuine and loved the beats/moments she took. I enjoyed the surprise revelation in Nina's journey to find her sister. Definitely worth the watch - a solid, fun story about family and letting go.

This is a low-budget indie film that is definitely worth seeing
DEH_in_CA4 October 2019
This film has garnered a lot of attention and awards at indie film festivals in the U.S. and abroad. I caught it at the Manhattan Film Festival last spring, and thought it was great. A set of quirky characters, and engaging plot, and just enough laughs to make it fun. Don't miss it, I'm hoping it will be widely available via streaming soon.

It's well written, witty and very well shot. Strong performances. Really captured a specific side of Los Angeles. Very fun movie.

A Charming Comedy
JGReviews1 May 2020
Closure is a unique indie film -- part off-beat comedy and part twist on the old LA based noir film. I seek out indie films like these because they bring different perspectives and different takes on genres. It always helps too when you see all those film festival laurels on the poster to know that it's going to be a good use of your time. Apparently the film won several awards too. The story is funny and engaging. It follows Nina, whose mother recently died, as she tries to track down her missing sister and encounters a bunch of unusual LA residents along the way. It's subtly absurdist and in many ways is a charming fish out of water comedy. I think it's definitely worth a watch.

Great comedy with suspense
directortim20121 May 2020
Terrific job by the writer-director and the whole cast on this fine indie. This movie has some fun sending up my hometown of L.A. And though I love Los Angeles, hey, we deserve a little skewering. But the film also deftly mixes drama and suspense as well. The end result is a very entertaining, delightfully fun movie with just a dash of edge. I loved it!

Dark Comedy/Suspense at Its Finest!
hollywoodkiddo21 October 2019
Without giving away any spoilers, the film is about a woman who travels to LA to find her missing sister. Sounds simple enough, but in true La La Land fashion, things just get weirder and weirder. The writing is fantastic, and the performances from the entire cast are brilliant- especially Catia Ojeda. Loved the movie from start to finish- highly recommend!

Smart and funny film
JCanni685 May 2020
I enjoyed going along for the fun ride of a woman searching for her missing sister in this clever, witty dark comedy. The lead character's misadventures provide a lot of laughs, action and drama, and the story has some juicy twists. And through it all, the character is forced to do some soul-searching and growing, coming to some insightful conclusions. And the film itself serves as a fun satire of society. Definitely worth checking out.

LA All Day
wjaywill4 May 2020
I love the combination of comedy and drama. I mean that's pretty much what life is, right? This film definitely handled it well. I loved the setting and characters as well. I don't care how many times LA is used as the setting for a film. It is such an interesting place with so many different areas and people that some weird stuff is bound to happen. Closure does a really great job of capturing that LA feeling.

solid indie comedy
williamgway1 May 2020
Good film. I find it is easy for indie films to fail at comedy. But this delivers well, and with solid acting. The story is funny and the production value pretty good. A great job looking at family relationships and how they work (or don't). Good film worthy of a watch.

Comedy, Action, Drama seamlessly woven
metroran6 May 2020
"Closure" is a delightful blend of tones, and Alex Goldberg handles all of them expertly. He gets excellent performances from his entire cast, particularly the lead Catia Ojeda whose journey to find her sister takes her into comic and sinister settings in an L.A. world that is entertaining and gripping. The technicals in this indie film are first rate, and, with many unexpected twists and turns, "Closure" is worth the time. Take a look.

Most excellent!
debijohess12 December 2019
I'm tough on comedy and I found this well written film to be a top notch comedy/drama right up there with the best studio films I have seen. Very cleverly plotted and the lead, Catia Ojeda, was spot on in every situation with her acting skills. All the characters were amazing, the sets well done, the production value very high, and the laughs just hanging out there to grab. I would highly recommend a watch. It's both toughing and hilarious. Well done to all cast and crew!

Great Dark Comedy LA Noir Indie
lyttondennis21 April 2020
Catia Ojeda was great with her earnest, WTF character Nina looking for her long lost sister after her mom dies. She navigates the classic LA shtick of weirdos and parking lots and seedy bars and bungalow apartments. Having grown up and lived in LA for years writer-director Alex Goldberg captures this vibe well.

Go put Closure on your coronial end times streaming queue!

One of the best movies I've see this year
abernstein199022 April 2020
Closure was an unexpected gem! A really touching and funny take on the "looking for my lost relative" story, with a twist at the end that is an existential gut punch. It also does a really fun job of skewering LA culture and all of its wacky, zany inhabitants.

Loved it!

Close is a fabulous film, funny, but also touches on a lot of other emotions too. The mix of genres makes for an interesting and entertaining viewing experience. It is very well written with a strong story, great casing, and beautifully shot. There were a few very memorable and quirky moments in there that I absolutely loved, but I won't give anything away.

You're no longer in Kansas!
BigHarvey24 May 2021
From the opening scene where our protagonist, Nina, fresh from Kansas is asked by a cabbie, "what was in the luggage?" and she responds "my mother" you know this film was going to be fun. This is a lovely fish out of water story as Nina traverses the surreal realms of Los Angeles with all of its eccentricity. She is in search of her sister who seems to have disappeared into a bizarre lifestyle. Part detective story and part journey of self-discovery, "Closure" leads Nina on a bizarre journey where she encounters some wonderfully outrageous characters. A pair of L. A. detectives she enlists to aid her are particularly amusing. And then of course when Dee Wallace shows up, it's such a wonderful turn of events. As a modest budget indie, this film entertains.

Funny with a good storyline
ismaeltrevizo25 April 2020
This movie is different from what I have seen in the past. I thought the characters were hilarious. They were also unpredictable unlike other movies. The story kept me a bit in suspense. I really enjoyed how the ending turned out. Not how you would have expected, after all the things main character went through to get there. Would definitely recommend this film. Great cast too.
