Don't eat the crayfish

Warning: Spoilers
Maksim (Dmitriy Bogdan ) buys a boat that is in need of repairs. In fact it looks like the same haunted boat used in a Japanese film. It is in a remote village on a reservoir. He takes along his useless girlfriend (Irina Starshenbaum) and his brother (Evgeniy Alyokhin) who he just got out of a clinic. They discover there was a fire on their boat and children died there. It is clear they are not wanted and stories of ghosts abound.

Not a horror film. (Sorry for the spoiler). It is a Russian film (dubbed) making an environmental statement and one about the old Soviet Union.

Guide: Sex. Brief nudity. No swearing that I recall.

Warning: Spoilers
Damn. Long REview got erased because of power flicker. So shorter version here now..

-1 Star for nub Maxim in his dealings with Paulina early on

Later on in the movie, Petya launches Paulina overboard. Not sure what is up with Petya, he seemed to like Paulina at one point. Paulina seems to have drowned.

Petya gets the boat's motor working.

Maxim finds Paulina's body washed up on shore. He tries desperately to revive her, but she is gone. Just wait til he finds out why she is dead!!!

Maxim searches down Nikolai and questions him about where Petya is. And where is his boat!!!

Maxim has found out that it is this old factory that poisoned the water in the Lake. And the fire on the boat was a fake screen to conceal the fact that it is the factory poisoning everyone. Oh Wow, Natalya just stabbed the hell out of Nikolai. Quick like a shank in prison!!!

+1 Star for Natalya going knife crazy on Nik.

Maxim meets the owner of the party boat. And that guy actually seems like a good guy. And they stole his dynamite he was going to use to 'widen the waterway'.

Maxim finds Petya. Petya says that wasn't the real Paulina. That the Paulina they knew died at that party. The Paulina he drowned was a witch. A witch that was sent to come between them. And then Petya pushes Maxim off the dam / bridge and then blows it up

Maxim survives and swims ashore. And he's there looking at Paulina's happiness bracelet she gave him when Paulina appears to him. This Paulina's ghost??? Now Maxim is finally able to say 'I love you'. It's a bit too late now.

Wait is that how it ends?? Okay that's horribly bad ending. I guess Maxim is dead? Not even sure what happened there.

But Petya is a crazy murdering psycho and he gets to go free?

What a bizarre ending to a bizarre movie.

-1 Star the ending was pretty bad

Creepiness at a price.

First off, if you can't watch badly done voice-overs, just skip it. You'll hate it. The only thing that saves this movie is the creepy hot blond. The voice over ABSOLUTELY SUCKS.

Slow movie that hits its stride half way.

The cast is decent. The story is slow slow slow then gets real interesting halfway through. The end is odd but makes you think. Worth watching for sure. The actress is nice to look at. I really liked it.

Warning: Spoilers
Three young people, Maxim, his girlfriend Polina and brother Petya, come to a seaside village, forgotten by all, where they buy a half-burnt ship standing in a factory by the forest. According to their idea, they will repair it and go on a round-the-world trip, well, or in case of emergency they will sell it. However, local residents interfere in their plans, who believe that the souls of those who died on this ship of people still live there and it is better not to disturb them. Guys do not believe in these tales and continue to conceive. However, unexpectedly disappears Pauline, and when she also unexpectedly appears, strange and frightening things begin to occur in the neighborhood of the village. I watched the movie. Great. Not a horror movie. After watching, you involuntarily start to think about life, about people. The fact that not everything is as it seems at first glance. I liked the cast. Interesting, new faces.

I recommend viewing it. 8 out of 10.
