More options than we think
TR60419 January 2022
This film does a great job presenting one funeral director in particular and her lovely approach to allowing more hands on time for family of the deceased. The film also dispels the myth we've conjured in current society that formal funeral industry knows best. It ultimately gives us permission to find services that suit our own particular needs for saying goodbye and burying our dead. A gentle and timely production. Lovely.

Beautiful, personal and unapologetic

This was so beautifully made, sharing the personal stories of those who died as well as those left behind. Demystifying what happens between that moment of death and the final goodbye and sharing the choices we have in life.

Healthy, honest and kind is how I would describe the approach taken by the filmmaker in their approach. Not at all voyeuristic or exploitative. Nothing is being presented as the way things should be done. But laying out some of the options and alternatives to the funerals many of us will have experienced and may have felt just didn't feel right for us when it's our time.

Thank you to those who took part for sharing this little glimpse into such a personal time when every possible emotion collides, and having a sense of control, along with love and respect and all of the things we desperately want to ensure for others.

Dead Boring

You have to figure something's up when they try to pump up interest in the film by stating that 4 people died making it. Well it turns out that the documentary is about a New Age approach to death and funerals. It's interesting but it could have easily been done in half the time. It also doesn't give a very good description of the actual process. If you want something more along those lines there are better documentaries out there than this one.
