Full of warmth

I m not into romantic series. But this drama got me.. hooked. I cried, laughed, was amazed, happy, sad everything. It's about love, life, family, career, friends, life in general....It's very well made. The story line might appear to be cliche but hold on to it... There more to it than just what u read in the storyline. Great soundtracks too!. Great acting by everyone. Yeo jin goo is excellent.. with his dreamy eyes n charming smile... disclaimer while watching do keep a handkerchief u ll cry like hell....

Feel Good Simple Fantasy Romantic Drama.
rookiewookie5 July 2021
Beautiful, well written & acted series.

Falls a wee bit short on emotional intensity I mean u won't feel every second of it.

You want u spirits lifted up & feel good just watch it.

Deserves to be an 8 on ratings.

Quite good
kinogems7 January 2022
It's a very well done drama and I like that it's not the cliche fantasy/supernatural and that he actually has some conditions for coming back. The plot is quite good even though bit disjointed. I enjoyed it thoroughly tho I don't understand why it's not more popular.

OK but too long
phillipjbrown1 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed a lot of this series; the idea of someone coming back from the dead after 12 years was intriguing and the settings were interesting. But there were too many faults.

Firstly 20 ep was way too long for the material and led to a lot of filler. Aside from the core group a lot of the acting was amateurish. For some reason the fashions were boring and. Lee Yeon-hee haircut!

The music was good. I couldn't follow the 'mythology' of who were the dead returnees. Did they all have a reason to return and why them ? And who sent them. No one in the show seemed even curious about their origins.

The romances were sweet but soooo slow and artificial even for Asian dramas.

The food bits were good with some useful tips and inviting looking food.

Lastly the ending! Was it a dream or a total cop out. The girl seemed to show no great surprise or joy that he had returned again making me think it was her wish rather than reality.

Great emotional series, for anyone who ever lost a loved one
peremena22 February 2020
For me, this drama was a deeply personal and emotional experience of rethinking the loss of a loved one. This movie is about love, dignity, family, trust, friendship. Great for family viewing, a direct but interesting plot with the development of characters throughout the story, the wonderful talented Yeo Jin Goo who, in my opinion, is the best of all the young Korean actors. The series may not have been much noticed in Europe, but the fans have translated it into Russian.

What a drag, should have been a shorter series!
afterbuddha27 August 2023
I like the overall concept but this series was so long with unnecessary episodes. It kept dragging like they had to fill a gap in the episodes. Overall, the series could have been much better with just 8 to 10 episodes.

All characters were sweet and the background music was nice.

Good for a one time watch while you press the fast forward button and skip the episodes. You won't be missing much with the story.

Do watch the last episode. It's not ground breaking but a good end to the 20 hours you will spend watching this series, or maybe less if you skip the episodes as recommended.

Overall a 6 out of 10.

Love it!

This is a heartfelt drama, with quite a few spit your coffee out funny moments, some terribly done special effects and a whole lot of fun, drama and mystery with some very lovely settings. The fact the most of the cast is wonderful eye candy too doesn't hurt a bit! It has a bit of everything and I recommend watching it to anyone who likes a good dramedy and mystery in their kdrama day.

The premise works but meanders towards the end
phd_travel16 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I liked a lot of this series. The story is good with a fantasy premise of coming back from the dead that works. It is quite touching seeing the repercussions on the family members and you want to see him right the wrongs. The characters are likeable - a trademark of this writer and the cast is good. Yeo Jin Goo is enthusiastic and carries a big load on his shoulders. Ahn Jae Hyun is quite right for his role. Lee Yeon Hee is pretty and a watchable expressive actress but they gave her a terrible haircut for the series which was supposed to be funny but it was unnecessary. Watch out for some good supporting cast members like Han So Hee in early roles.

The fault is that 40 episodes was too long and it meandered towards the last third. The ending is complete but there could have been some twist instead of just the expected bye bye.

Say goodbye to friends
michaelb_mannheim1 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Surely one of the most sentimental Korean Dramas. There are more creative ones, yes. But when finally the main figure has to say goodbye to each friend, brother and sister, it was for me like saying goodbye to them, too. It's one of those dramas, in which you had learned so much about the characters, that you don't want to let them go. So with a better soundtrack (for me a 2 of 10 points for soundtrack) and less too obvious moments where all the bad people regret and get nice - that would have been a 10 point Drama. The actors make it worth to see it.

Good enough
PennyReviews28 September 2017
Warning: Spoilers
A sweet, light drama about friendship, family and some mystery from the past. Okay, the mystery was not that interesting and they kind of remembered it towards the end, but at least that kept the drama entertaining till the very last episode. Honestly, the ending could have been better, but it was okay enough. Moreover, the romance was okay, but the scene stealer was the family-friends bond. The concept with the restaurants and the companies and the people who returned was good and they executed it pretty well, as well. Now, for the performances, they were okay, though some people said that they were terrible. I personally don't agree, as the actors were pretty good in their roles and I didn't see any awkwardness or anything. So, 7 out of 10.

Lovely movie very Hart felt and moving.
osinghos27 March 2021
Thier is so much packed in this movie it really moved me. Was very emotional with the story and the message of this movie. Would have like for him to have woken up on roof top of the school again and met everyone again as promised and lived life as he could but considering that would not be realistic then ending was kinda sad but in a content way. Definitely an must watch movie bring the core of relationships in life (Love) Family, friends, partner ect.

Dull, Boring and A Dud
unrivaledraj2 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I'm on episode 15 of 20. And I'm finding it hard to continue. The story is bleak and dull. Nothing much has happened between the leads since the beginning, they have zero chemistry as a couple, I'm not even sure if they are a couple, I'm assuming they are, since they've had the usual unromantic lips pecking twice, but haven't ever said anything to each other that they love each other. They're no doubt the most boring pair of leads in a kdrama I have seen.

Up until now there has been zero romance, just like the story , music is dull as well. For 15 episodes, the story so far is the dead guy has magically comeback alive with super powers, his friends and siblings welcome him, he starts to work as chef, he wasn't the assumed killer and they're looking for actual culprit. That's it, there has been zero character development, or story twists and turns.

I was expecting some really nice passionate moments between leads, but that has been a big dud, for someone who lost their best friend cum love of their life, both of the leads havent expressed those feelings.

This is my second show of the actor as ML, after Hotel Del Luna, and now I'm convinced that dude can't act anything remotely romance, his chemistry was way off with IU in that who no doubt has good enough expressions, and here as well he can't act, even his laughter is so fake it just puts me off everytime he laughs.

Also that ranch lady character is the biggest writer @$$pull, they are just using it like the writer wants, first she's someone who's driving an excavator, then she's someone owning a ranch, and now she's living in Seoul owning art galleries and moving around in designer wear and luxury brands and cars. And she behaves like she owns or knows the leads for decades.

None of the leads have right expressions and emotions here. I'm just gonna continue to see how it ends, but have zero hopes of this getting any better. Will update after I finish.
