Funny AND Touching
susiemoloney22 December 2020
I saw Indian Road Trip at the Whistler International Film Festival, and was very pleasantly distracted from the horrors of 2020 for the full run of the film. The two con men at the centre of the story were gorgeous, funny, and utterly compelling. The story is antic, with magic, a road trip, nude beach, and even a miscommunicated heist--something for everyone. See it if you can!

Film's real message is all about family unity...

Warning: Spoilers
I found this film to be all about keeping family together. In this case, a Native Elder is first and foremost priority because she needed to get to her destination. The 2 young guys had to drive her there but I think it's all about the symbolic meaning of the drive itself. Not only were to do that for her as "punishment" for who they were as scam artists, but those two had to learn an important lesson to never be scammers in the first place. I think those two learned a lot from the lady Elder about life. I'm quite sure that she was quite mad at them for what they did by scamming those white tourists earlier. That's why she was so cranky. Lots of characters in this film were mad at them for doing that. But I recognized Shayla Stonechild in this one. I know her from the APTN show she does with Tom Jackson but I never knew she also did film.

Anyway, this one earns a 7 out of 10.
