There’s No Such Thing as Zombies isn’t so much a comedy about the zombie apocalypse as it is the story of three people, Carlotta, her husband Paul and his old school friend Colin.
When Colin’s bragging gets on Paul’s last nerve, Carlotta gives him a “vitamin” which Colin recognizes as Troxidil, a powerful antidepressant that also doubles as male birth control by decreasing sperm count. This really doesn’t sit well with Paul, not only was he being lied to, he was being prevented from starting the family he wanted.
At this point, we cut away to The Hunt and Christina Show, whose hosts are also talking about Troxidil, specifically allegations that it causes the dead to rise. They’ll soon be joined by Victoria Winkelhauser a...

Sia is a huge fan of Survivor and loves celebrating her favorite players.
The singer of The Greatest, Cheap Thrills, and Elastic Heart also awards cash prizes to players she enjoys on the show.
Following the Survivor 45 season, Sia gave out three cash prizes to cast members. Rewarding players is something she loves doing. It also leads to more than just the winner being recognized.
Some players who have received the Survivor Sia Award include Aurora McCreary from Edge of Extinction, Elaine Stott from Island of the Idols, and Owen Knight from Survivor 43 (in Fiji).
Fans routinely debate which players will or should receive Sia’s admiration in a given season.
Katurah Topps received $100,000 from Sia after appearing on Survivor 45.
Kaleb Gebrewold and Jake O’Kane each received $15,000 from Sia after Survivor 45.

Producer Mark Burnett expected a hit when he sent 16 contestants and a then-unknown 38-year-old host named Jeff Probst to the Borneo island of Malaysia for an adaptation of the Swedish competition show Expedition Robinson. What he got instead was a cultural phenomenon. Survivor instantly became a ratings juggernaut, and viewership for the first season finale reached north of 50 million. Reality TV existed before Survivor, but the show’s low overhead and potential for mass appeal single-handedly ushered in the reality-competition boom.
In the 24 years since it hit airwaves, Survivor has morphed from a “social experiment” into television’s most complex and grueling competition, with players practically raised on the show elevating it to new heights of strategy. Its motto—“Outwit. Outplay. Outlast.”—speaks to the complex permutations of physical strength, mental acumen, and social skills that can produce winners as diverse as season 30’s Mike Holloway, who got himself to...

The second season of Jeff Probst‘s popular “On Fire: The Official Survivor Podcast” debuts on September 27 immediately following CBS’s 90-minute premiere of “Survivor 45.” And this time around, the podcast is adding a past contestant to give insights from “the player’s point of view.” That person is Rick Devens, the fan-fave finalist who came in fourth place back in “Survivor: Edge of Extinction,” the 38th season that aired in Spring 2019.
Devens joins Probst and podcast producer Jay Wolff for weekly deep dives into the Emmy-winning reality TV series. Unlike other podcasts that simply offer recaps, “On Fire” is the ultimate “Survivor” companion that goes behind the scenes to reveal how and why certain aspects of the show came to be. Listen to the trailer below:

Cannibal Cabin, formerly Cannibal Lake, opens in 2002 with a trio of vacationers, one of whom is very pregnant, planning to spend a weekend jet skiing at a lake next to what looks like an abandoned scrap yard. Instead, they end up meeting a nasty end at the hands of a bunch of the kind of masked cannibals that tend to inhabit places like this.
From there we move to the present day where a group of friends including Matt, Jonah, and Chris are heading to a music festival they heard about from Faye whom Jen met at another festival while peeing behind a bush.
If this sounds familiar it’s probably because it is. They set off, bickering all the way only to find the shortcut Faye told them about leads to a closed road.

The following contains spoilers from Wednesday’s season finale of Survivor 44.
It’s been four long years since Chris Underwood won the final immunity challenge on Survivor: Edge of Extinction and did the unthinkable: He threw himself into the Final 4 fire-making challenge despite already punching his ticket to the Final 3. Having sat on the Edge for most of the game, Underwood felt like he needed a resume booster, so he faced favorite Rick Devens head-to-head, came out on top and won the entire season.

For many contestants, Survivor is the ultimate in reality television. The series pushes participants to the edge of their limits, both mentally and physically, until only a single winner stands. While the series has been on the air for more than two decades, it remains an important part of pop culture – and for those who have competed on Survivor, it is an experience unlike any other. Over the years, many contestants have spoken out about their time on the show, revealing what they would have changed and what their big takeaways were. Recently, three-time contestant Ethan Zohn sat down for an interview on The Sarah Fraser Show podcast, talking about his experience on Survivor and what his biggest regret is.

Survivor has aired 44 seasons and has been on the air for almost 23 years. Throughout the CBS reality competition series’ run, there have been plenty of epic highs and a handful of disastrous lows as producers introduce new elements to the game. Some have completely changed the series for the better, while other Survivor twists long to be forgotten by the show’s fans.
Jeff Probst | Photo: Robert Voets/CBS 5. Medallion of Power in ‘Survivor: Nicaragua’ was the show’s most useless twist
We’re starting our ranking of the five worst Survivor twists by taking you back to the show’s twenty-first season, Nicaragua. During the premiere, host Jeff Probst introduced the new group of castaways to the Medallion of Power. And if we’re being honest, the point of this new twist is lost on us. Plus, its mechanics are sort of convoluted.

Survivor producers put a lot of time and effort into making each season. Most of the time, the planning includes twists, challenges, puzzles, etc. And even though Survivor isn’t the most glamorous show, the cast and crew must also deliberate what the castaways will wear during the game. But can the Survivor players pick what clothing they bring to the island?
Heidi Lagares-Greenblatt, Josh Wilder, Danny Massa, Matt Blankinship, Claire Rafson, and Frannie Marin | Photo: Robert Voets/CBS Castaways wear their original tribe colors in ‘Survivor’ on CBS
As Survivor fans have noticed over the seasons, each castaway’s wardrobe coordinates with their starting tribe’s color.
For example, producers gave the Soka tribe in Survivor 44 (pictured above) green buffs, so their color was green. As a result, they each brought with them green-colored clothing. So we know that producers at least inform the players what colors to focus...

CBS has released 44 seasons of Survivor since 2000, and with that many iterations of the reality competition series, some are bound to be flops. The producers are constantly trying new things, leading to massive success (re: hidden immunity idols), and others have been complete hits and misses (re: Edge of Extinction). But bad twists and themes aren’t the only contributors to the criteria of the show’s worst seasons; sometimes, a cast can lead to a season’s downfall. Read on for our five least favorite Survivor competitions.

We know what you’re thinking: what took so long?! Because of the Coid-19 pandemic, the reality TV show could not travel abroad until production received the proper go-ahead from the Fiji government, which they got earlier this year. With only three months to go until Jeff Probst and his dimples return to our television screens, it’s time to fill you in on five major secrets we’ve uncovered about the new season. “I’ve never been more ready to come back and kick some ass,” Jenna Morasca recently told EW.com about whether she’d ever want to play “Survivor” again. This winner of Season 6 (“The Amazon”) is still the youngest woman to ever take home the $1 million check — she was just 21 when the show aired in 2003. But she hasn’t played since Season 8 (“All Stars”) in 2004, a whopping 17 years ago now. The most recent 40th cycle (“Winners at War”) invited back 20 former champions to play again, but Morasca, who admitted she’s “older now,” wasn’t one of them. Do you hope this forgotten winner returns for a future season of “Survivor” so newer fans can see her in action? Sound off down in the comment section.

[Note: With the film finally coming to DVD, here’s a reposting of our review of the sci-fi film Edge of Extinction]
Filmed in a suitably grim and grey aesthetic, Edge of Extinction is set 15 years after a global apocalypse, with mankind is on the verge of extinction. Civilisation no longer exists, food is scarce and most eke out a living by stealing and killing. One man clings onto life in the desolate British countryside, where staying away from others has been key to his survival. But this self-imposed isolation comes to an abrupt end when he crosses paths with another group of survivors and faces an enemy far more savage than any of them could have imagined.

Gervase Peterson urges ‘Survivor’ to be ‘more equally diverse,’ both on-screen and behind the scenes
This summer marks the 20th anniversary of “Survivor” premiering on CBS, and Gervase Peterson is now speaking out about his experience. “I honestly don’t have any regrets” about either of the two times he played, he tells EW.com. This fan-fave original castaway came in seventh place in “Borneo” (2000) and third place in “Blood vs. Water” (2013). “It changed my life, and I have loved every minute of playing it.” Gervase also opens up about what he’d change about the long-running reality TV show, proclaiming, “I would make ‘Survivor’ more equally diverse.”
He continues, “For years, it was a standard of one Black man and one Black woman. That’s just terrible. Also, more diversity in casting and production. This would help in a more diverse cast and the telling of the diverse cast stories and not labeling them with negative stereotypes. It’s been long overdue.” Over the first 40 seasons of “Survivor,...

Three weeks ago, “Survivor” host Jeff Probst dubbed the just-ended “Winners at War” as “The G.S.O.S.O.A.T.” — in other words, “The greatest season of ‘Survivor’ of all time.” What with 20 former champs competing against one another, he told Entertainment Weekly, “They are absolutely killing it. Game-play at a level we have never seen before.”
But after the finale last Wednesday when Tony Vlachos was crowned as the Sole Survivor, we asked whether you agreed with Jeff that Season 40 — aka “the season on steroids” — was the ultimate in outwitting, outplaying and outlasting as the reality competition’s longtime motto states.
See ‘Survivor’ celebrities: 31 famous faces and well-known figures who played the game
In our poll, however, just 36% agreed while saying that most of the 20 returning players lived up to their reputations as past winners of the show.

The allure of the post-apocalyptic world is one that cinema revisits frequently and Andrew Gilbert’s Edge of Extinction dives into this valiantly.
But despite its best efforts it falls short with a number of mis-steps.
This is a Britain but not quite as we know it, undoubtedly and you would believe is post-Brexit, set 15 years after World War III triggered by a nuclear attack on Turkey.
We see some signs of promise or perhaps at least what could be as the film opens to a lone man simply credited as “The Boy” (Luke Hobson) out in the middle of nowhere against a distinctive score that perfectly sets a tone of despair.
Director and writer, Andrew Gilbert, borrows from what has come before and is very reminiscent of 28 Days Later and captures a smidgen of the feeling at the beginning but this is where comparisons stop.

In a post-finale interview with “Survivor” host Jeff Probst, Entertainment Weekly addresses several issues that popped up in the three-hour last episode of “Winners at War” after Tony Vlachos became just the second player to win the show twice.
First, he chatted about what every fan was thinking when runner-up Natalie Anderson, who came back from the Edge of Extinction and joined the competition again, did not offer to make fire against Tony. When the Edge first appeared on Season 38, the eventual winner Chris Underwood — who only played 13 days in the actual game — tossed away his immunity and volunteered to make fire against his biggest obstacle, Rick Devens, and won. Natalie instead allowed Sarah Lacina to go against Tony, who won.

“Natalie was well aware that Chris set the tone in Season 38,” Jeff says.

Boston Rob Mariano was right when he made an out loud observation as he wrote down the name of his pick for the Sole Survivor of Season 40. Natalie Anderson, who crushed her competition on the Edge of Extinction after being the first arrival on that lonely beach, did almost everything right to get back into the competition and return to the game — except for one move. She should have made sure that she wasn’t pitted against Tony Vlachos in the final three.
Instead, she was betting on Sarah Lacina to beat her cop buddy Tony at making fire. The edit made it seem he wasn’t that adept at sparking a flame with flint during practice. But he struck when the fire was hot and got his bestie kicked out of the competition. Natalie was much more worthy of the prize than Michele Fitzgerald, her other rival. But there...

Hey, "Survivor" fans. Tonight, May 13, 2020, the finale episode of "Survivor season 40: Winners At War" did indeed air, and a winner was finally revealed after everything was all said and done. Tonight's episode kicked off with host Jeff Probst revealing that he was Live from his garage due to the terrible pandemic. All of the 20 players were shown live from their homes via a Zoom camera connection. Next, they showed the "Edge Of Extinction" battle-back challenge. In it, they had to race through a fence and post obstacle. Then do some sort of sand dig. Then they had to build a rope bridge and crawl over it. After that, they had to unravel a bag of balls. Then they had to get two balls through a table maze in to two holes for the win.

In honor of its 20th anniversary, “Survivor” brought back 20 winners from previous seasons, but only one person came out on top during Wednesday’s finale.
During a socially distanced video call, host Jeff Probst revealed that Tony Vlachos won the season.
Heading into the final episode, five castaways remained to win the $2 million grand prize: Ben Driebergen, Denise Stapley, Michele Fitzgerald, Sarah Lacina and Tony. However, 14 formerly eliminated players were waiting in the Edge of Extinction to jump back into the game.
Like most shows caught filming during the coronavirus pandemic, “Survivor” had to go remote on Wednesday’s episode. Probst kicked off the show from his garage in a homemade set. The final contestants virtually joined him later in the episode to find out who won.

It seems like only yesterday the 20 returning “Survivor” champions returned for an epic clash in “Winners at War,” but now we’ve already reached the Season 40 finale. Heading into Wednesday’s three-hour event, only five castaways remained in the running to win the $2 million prize: Ben Driebergen, Denise Stapley, Michele Fitzgerald, Sarah Lacina and Tony Vlachos. But there were 14 players living on the Edge of Extinction who were itching for their chance to return to the game: Natalie Anderson, Amber Mariano, Danni Boatwright, Ethan Zohn, Rob Mariano, Parvati Shallow, Yul Kwon, Wendell Holland, Adam Klein, Tyson Apostol, Sophie Clarke, Kim Spradlin-Wolfe, Jeremy Collins and Nick Wilson. The 20th contestant, Sandra Diaz-Twine, quit after being voted out on Day 16.

Most “Survivor” devotees are betting on Tony Vlachos to claim the title of Sole Survivor on the 40th season of the CBS show, “Winners at War.” The biggest argument made for predicting his ultimate victory on the three-hour finale this Wednesday, May 13? He is the only one of the 20 previous champs competing on this so-called “season on steroids” whose name has never been written down during a Tribal Council. He might be twitchy as an itchy squirrel sometimes, but he has shown off both his leadership skills, his physical prowess and endurance and even his social game.
That is why an overwhelming 62% voted in our Gold Derby poll for Tony to win it all and become just the second winner to win “Survivor” twice since Sandra Diaz-Twine, who left the season early after being blindsided with her own immunity idol and quit once she got to the Edge of Extinction.

Natalie Anderson is the richest woman on “Survivor: Winners at War,” at least in terms of fire tokens. Having collected a whopping 14 tokens since being voted out on Day 2, she now has several advantages going into the finale’s big re-entry challenge. As seen in last week’s penultimate episode, she bought three advantages for the upcoming challenge, a jar of peanut butter and a hidden Immunity Idol which she gave to Tyson Apostol just in case he won, having already purchased one for herself earlier. All of these are likely reasons why she is the definitive frontrunner to get back into the game in Wednesday’s “Survivor: Winners at War” finale.
Natalie has 4/9 odds of being the Edge of Extinction returnee, according to Gold Derby’s latest odds. In the opinion of our users, no one else is even close to being in that top position. Tyson is in the no.

This season of Survivor, which airs its finale Wednesday (CBS, 8/7c), I drank in the excitement as 20 former winners battled it out for a whopping $2 million prize. I chuckled as the more eccentric characters made entertaining comments or paranoia-fueled game moves. I cheered as some pushed past breaking points on an isolated island, the “Edge of Extinction.” I wrung my hands in suspense as cast members sunk or saved themselves at unpredictable tribal councils.
But I only saw two people who looked like me: African American contestants Wendell Holland and Jeremy Collins. Vecepia Robinson, the only African American woman to...

Tony Vlachos, Sarah Lacina and Michele Fitzgerald are the leading candidates to win “Survivor: Winners at War,” as discussed in a new video recap with three Gold Derby superfans. Marcus thinks Michele, Susan is picking Sarah while Kevin is going with Tony. Who makes the most compelling case? Watch the lively discussion in the video chat above.
Wloszczyna is still backing her favorite, Sarah, because as she puts it, “I think she manipulates her cohorts Ben [Driebergen] and Tony more than they manipulate her. I think she’s the brains behind the operation more than them, but she lets them think that they are.”

“It’s the first time I’ve ever been voted out,” said Nick Wilson after being voted out of “Survivor: Winners at War” in Wednesday’s penultimate episode. Heading into the two-hour 13th episode of “Survivor: Winners at War,” seven castaways still remained in the running to win the $2 million prize: Denise Stapley, Michele Fitzgerald, Sarah Lacina, Nick Wilson, Tony Vlachos, Jeremy Collins and Ben Driebergen. Most long-time “Survivor” devotees are enjoying “Winners at War,” the so-called “season on steroids” that has pitted 20 past winners against one another. The gameplay, alliance-making and strategizing has been quite intriguing. Even the Edge of Extinction is more interesting this time around as the booted players at least get chances to win fire tokens to use on advantages after completing grueling physical challenges and not just lay about the beach all day long.
But if Season 40 has had a downside, it’s that these former Sole Survivors have debased the one-time sacred ceremony of Tribal Council and taken it to a new low. In the good old days, host Jeff Probst presided over proceedings while questioning the castaways about the state of affairs within their tribe and who could be in danger of being voted out. It’s down to the wire on “Survivor: Winners at War” as we prepare for this week’s special two-hour penultimate episode. Heading into the Final Seven, several castaways are skating on thin ice for varying reasons, especially big threats like Tony Vlachos, Jeremy Collins and Sarah Lacina. Some fans are even thinking Ben Driebergen‘s time will finally come.
Ben has the highest chance of being voted out in Wednesday’s two-hour episode, according to Gold Derby odds. The “Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers” winner has 6/5 odds of going to the Edge of Extinction. Ben has been playing dangerously in the post-merge, earning the ire of Jeremy and ratting out plans to Tony. It’s possible if Tony wins another Immunity or protects himself with an idol that Ben could become a backup target. Then there’s Jeremy, who is very close with 14/5 odds of getting the boot.
