This is "Brent & Johnson: Equality Street" and the Brent in the title is Ricky Gervais' David Brent from The Office. It's been years since I watched that show, the British version honestly, but I think i liked it a lot. Okay I will admit the connection here to said show is very vague in this 2013 music video. Can you call it a music video? It is really much more about the comedy than about the singing, even if both performers were better than I expected and the chorus is even slightly catchy. It has Gervais' typical approach to cemdy in it. His character plays the tolerant part and it is clearly seen it is really all just for the camera how he acts towards people from other cultures and also those who are not heterosexuals especially in one scene. So yeah, it is all a spoof really. Also funny how his duet partner sees right through Brent's mannerisms that he may not be entirely happy despite pretending and said duet partner can't be fooled and knows what he is dealing with, especially as a Black man. Overall, it's not a must-see, not even for hardcore The Office fans, but everybody who likes or even loves Gervais like I do can check this one out and have a fairly decent time. You just should not expect greatness here to be honest. Thumbs up from me.
