Audio is a success, video not so much

"She Will Be Loved" is a successful Maroon 5 song from 2004, so it has its 15th anniversary this year and here we got the pretty well-known music video. Like all the others, it is not really too long, but this one stays somewhat memorable, even if not for the right reasons. It is just too much over the top. The song implies there is a best-friend turned boyfriend story line here and that is okay and now that they are together and at the girl's house, he apparently falls for her mother or at least feels attracted to her you could say. The latter is played by famous actress Kelly Presoton by the way. And then there is some (mild) violence, some arguments, rather on the quiet side and so on and so forth. You could easily see that director Sophie Muller and whoever wrote this wanted to make a huge impact with the music video, but to me it all feels pretty contrived and fake to be honest. If it wasn't for the song and Levine's soothing voice with great recognition value, I'd probably be much harsher with my rating here. But yeah, what can I say it is that good. On a side-note, Maroon 5 played the Super Bowl halftime show last night, nothing more to add there. Back to this one here, I give it a cautious thumbs-up, but still I think it is perfectly fine if you listen to the record over the music video as long as you listen to it.
