After a so-so second episode of the second series this next episode more than makes up for it. This is perhaps the best episode of the show so far.

Full of lovely interplay between Sian Gibson and Peter Kay, as well as the ongoing 'will they, won't they?', this episode also features a brilliant visual humour scene that will live long in the mind.

It's a great show at the best of times, but this episode in particular was exceptional.

I look forward to seeing episode four.

Not a lot of laughs, not a lot of good music references, but what we did get was further buildup to the Kayleigh/John romance. We had a perfectly executed moment with John finally asking Kayleigh to be on the Christmas team with her thinking he was asking for much more. That speaks to the strong dynamic this show has built.

So, monkey humor not so great, but slow builds to romantic tension? Fine by me.
