Fun Featurette

Wicked Wishes: Making the Wishmaster (1997)

*** (out of 4)

This 24-minute featurette was produced when the film was first in theaters. Obviously it was meant to try and sell the picture to people so that they'd go out and see it. Director Robert Kurtzman, screenwriter Peter Atkins, make-up artist Tom Rainone and actor Andrew Divoff are featured as they discuss the making of the film. The highlight of this is getting to see some great behind-the-scenes footage including a lot dealing with the fire sequences in the picture. A good portion of the running time is devoted to a sequence where a character catches on fire and crashes through a window. We get a great idea of how a stunt like this is done and we see how takes can go wrong and we get one major accident captured on film. The interviews are certainly fun and for the most part this promotional piece was good enough to where you'd probably watch it and be interested in the film it is selling.
