Matt Cimber and Jim Lobianco on 'Massacre Mafia Style' (2015)
*** (out of 4)
Director Matt Cimber and Jim Lobianco are interviewed about Duke Mitchell's MASSACRE MAFIA STYLE. Cimber was a friend of Mitchell's and he discusses what aspects of the filmmaking that he knew about. This includes how Mitchell was able to get some of the funds for the picture and he also shines a light about its originally run in theaters. Lobianco, who would go onto appear in the director's GONE WITH THE POPE, discusses what influence THE GODFATHER had on Mitchell and why he wanted to make this movie. There's certainly nothing ground-breaking to be had here but there are enough interesting stories that makes it worth watching. The most fascinating stuff deals with the film's release in theaters and how it would go from one city to the next.
