Disney short magic
TheLittleSongbird4 June 2019
'Walt Disney Animation Short Films Collection' is a truly excellent collection of twelve short films ('John Henry', 'Lorenzo', 'Little Match Girl', 'How to Hook Up Your Home Theater', 'Tick Tock Tale', 'Operation Secret Santa', 'The Ballad of Bessie', 'Tangled Ever After', 'Paperman', 'Get a Horse', 'Feast' and 'Frozen Fever') from Disney. Short films that capture the magic that always captivated me about Disney, and all of them range from good to outstanding.

Have two personal favourites, for different reasons. One is 'Little Match Girl', which has to be up there with the most beautiful and most touching short films ever made. It's gorgeously animated (one of the most beautiful looking short films ever to me, animated and non-animated), has an immensely rootable lead character, makes me cry uncontrollably every time and has some of the best use of Borodin in visual media, more so than 'Kismet'. The other is 'Tangled Ever After', which is hilarious. Especially love Maximus, a major scene stealer in 'Tangled' so deserved a bigger focus.

Also very funny is 'How to Hook Up Your Home Theater', one of those short films that entertains and educates and very true to the spirit and style of the "How to..." Goofy cartoons. If you love that series and Goofy, you will get a kick out of it. Likewise with 'Get a Horse', which so cleverly emulates the spirit of classic "golden age" Disney. Close behind 'The Little Match Girl' in the emotional impact stakes is 'Paperman', also a powerful example of strong characterisation without saying a word.

'Tick Tock Tale' is immensely charming, and 'Lorenzo' could easily have been obnoxious and potentially distasteful but instead managed to be very entertaining. 'Frozen' seems to be one of the most hated-on films on the internet, personally love the film and loved 'Frozen Fever' too. 'Feast' and 'Ballad of Bessie' are also very well made charmers.

Of the twelve, my least favourite is 'Operation Secret Santa'. Which is still a good cartoon, but not a great one like most of the others in the collection. 'John Henry' is very well done if also a lesser effort, due to some of the animation not being to my taste.

In conclusion, great collection of Disney short films. 9/10

Some: Artistic Shorts, Classic Fab 5 Shorts, Modern Character Shorts
Nemo_2415 July 2019
I won't comment on every short included in the collection, but some were really good and others dragged on. Frozen Fever, Tangled Ever After, and How To Hook Up Your Home Theater, helped to restore the Disney film magic that has been lacking in a number of releases the last few years. When Pixar/Disney release their collections of shorts, I typically enjoy most of them. The Studios short film collection is no different. You get to see a more artistic/independent side, a classic Disney Fab 5 side, and a modern day Disney side! Plus, who can complain about some old "style" Goofy shorts!

12 Animated Disney short films (Released 2015)
Niki333325 March 2019
I watched this 3/24/2019.

While some films had more adult themes, with proper adult supervision and guidance/discussion if needed, they are fine. They contain various important life lessons.

I did appreciate the short intro by the creators of each film. It gave a bit of background, that for me, made me appreciate each film even more.

The whole collection was a treat. Sometimes emotional, always well-done, overall delightful. Gave each one a 10, except "How To Hook Up Your Home Theater", which I gave a 9 (only because Goofy isn't one of my personal favorite characters).

Emotional stories
joonyjoon29 September 2018
These shorts give so much substance in such a short amount of time, it's really amazing. The stories are so emotional, "The little match girl" really tugged at my heartstrings. I suggest you space out the stories, no need to watch them all in one night.

A recopilation of good shorts from Disney
arielsiere23 June 2022
A lot of shorts are great and good and some of them are on Disney+ and they are 12 shorts and based on some of my favorite movies such as Frozen, Tangled and some of them in theatre such as Winnie The Pooh, Big Hero 6, etc. Some shorts are John Henry, Lorenzo, The Little Matchgirl which is a common reference to The Little Mermaid, How To Hook Up Your Home Theater, Tick Tock Tale, Prep And Landing Corporaction Secret Santa, The Ballad Of Nessie, Tangled Ever After, Paperman, Get A Horse, Feast and Frozen Fever are all cool and awesome shorts to enjoy with your family. It looks like a lot of people putted a lot of effort to their work.
