So, i have rewatched the first 3 seasons of this show many times as it is probably my favourite show on TV (NOT s4-8, they are a disgrace and Ian and Andrew should be ashamed of themselves, absolute garbage TV).
So this is gonna be kind of a short series review/finale episode review.
I think the thing that always keeps me coming back is the characters. If anyone who reads this has been in the situations the characters are in, in s1 they will find this SUPER relatable. Because i had (still have) a brother just like Nick and a dad just like Travis (also still have) so for me, ive always just from the beginning of the show had a bias towards the show because not only did they make a spin off of my favourite show of all time (twd), they then made the characters and situations something that ive witnessed in real life. So this show (s1-3) will always hit the sweet spot for rewatches.
As for the finale, i personally think its the best finale/cliff-hanger in twdu. The way it destroyed the dam and all their homes, it also set up s4 perfectly (As we know, none of that happened). I honestly wish so badly that Dave Erickson got his chance to play out his vision. And if we are all honest, ftwd was hitting its peak as twd was on the decline (s7/8) and ftwd would have surpassed the main show in quality with consistency. Ftwd s3 is for me a top 3 season in twdu, it reminds me of twd s2 (one of my favourites) but with way more at stake.
RIP ftwd.
