During the 1971 Indo-Pak War, twelve IAF Pilots were taken prisoners of war (POWs) by the Pakistan Air Force, and spent around a year in captivity. Eventually, they escaped from the Provost Camp of the PAF (located in Rawalpindi) to the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, travelling a total of 300 km by foot and bus before arriving at Torkham. The Great Indian Escape chronicles the trials and tribulations faced by these bravehearts in the service of their motherland, and their daring escape in the face of overwhelming odds.
