Uncle has always been an offbeat, amiable comedy drama about manchild Andy and his developing relationship with his more mature nephew Errol.
In the opening episode of the third and final series we have gone forward 18 months. Andy is enjoying musical success but he is haunted by the child he had with Teresa who he has never seen. He worries about fatherhood and seeks advice.
Errol meanwhile is being bit of a brat. He is not getting on with his stepfather Bruce who is planning to have a child with his mother.
The chat with Andy and Val was a highlight of this episode. It has a bittersweet tinge for Andy when he does go to see Teresa. Deep down Andy knows he was not yet ready to be a father.
