Warner Brothers animator Chuck Jones developed the use of Acme for many generic products used widely in Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote shorts, as well as many others. The victim's name is Allen Fresco. The term "al fresco" is an Italian phrase meaning "in the cool [air]," though it is generally used to describe eating outside. Fresco, the victim, fell over 1,000 feet through the (cool) air, making his name particularly appropriate.
