Well that was an over the top finale, but for the most part it worked. The idea of everything being a setup for Geils to prepare for his career promotion was a good twist, but the parody ending with Angie Tribeca not being the real Angie Tribeca was even better. That is the kind of thing that serious cop shows would do, even though it fits much better in the world of comedy.
