Good for a pilot, a few good laughs and the cast has good chemistry.

Gay Discount (#1.1)

Warning: Spoilers
This was a nice beginning. So far just introductions to the characters, but in a fun way. There are these pushy oppression victims demanding their poster to be put in the store window which show us Appa's way to get out and invent the fun gay discount which led to some funny moments. A pushy Umma trying to get her daughter Janet to date a cool Christian Korean guy. Also pretty funny and sweet how she changed at the end. And Jung who as we know didn't talk to his father in a long time who gave us some fun moments at his work.

But unnamed Canadian city? You can see the CN tower in the intro. So obvious Toronto lol

Great New Show on CBC

Great subtle, comedy about a Korean family that runs a convenience store. Very subtle and true humor...an excellent show I wish was on U.S television...Well worth watching. Kim and his wife run the convenience store in an Canadian city...their 20 year old daughter helps in the store and goes to school. Their son works in the city at a car rental company having run away from home years earlier and being estranged from his father.

The subtle humor of the younger children trying to walk the fine line of a old world tight knit family with the desires and demands of the modern city ads tension and interest. This is a fun show well worth giving a try
