A Catholic documentary that gets nearly everything right
maxjolls13 August 2022
I picked this up doing a mad dash research on Knock for my own video project on Marian apparitions, and this was profoundly rewarding. It gives a wide variety of interviews and really gets Catholicism as it is in the 2000s & 2010s. There's a lot of subtext that most might not appreciate, but as someone who is attuned to this stuff, my jaw dropped a few times.

Repugnant
boowho-264175 September 2019
Monsignor Horan: "There's only one more thing you could do for us!! Could you open that bar?...." (followed by roar of abhorrent laughter). "A great tourist attraction" promises of "International pilgrimage"...the prideful handmaid lamenting over who will carry the damned lamps! If indeed Our Lady did grace this township with Her presence in 1879 then She is surely weeping for this repugnant display of greed, arrogance and false piety. Shop keepers of Knock madly competing with each other, their precious wares of statues and trinkets on display....drunken clergy arriving on a chartered jet no less. Matthew 21:12-13 When Jesus, in His righteous anger, overturned the tables of vendors in His temple. Bah! For shame, the lot of you, for shame!!
