A lavish wedding is hosted at The Halcyon, a daughter of one of the Hamilton's friends celebrates her big day at the Hotel, but a massive overhead attack sees the party forced underground, much to the annoyance of the mother. Richard and Peggy are caught in the raid, but rush back to a destroyed house where daughter Dora is buried. A face from Richard's past turns up bringing back some haunting memories. Lord Hamilton breaks Emma's heart by ending their growing bond, Adil kisses a confused Toby.
The best episode to date, lots of complex relationships, with pretty much every character entwined romantically somewhere along the lines. Great special effects, and some truly harrowing moments with bombs falling and sirens ringing. Nice to see the layers of Richard's character being unpicked, and his dark past coming to light.
Beautifully acted as always, great to see Liz White's Peggy getting more screen time, she was excellent. Again though I feel it's Hermione Corfield (Emma) that steals the show. Nice to see and hear Jamie Cullum.
