Our story is set in a very diverse coastal community on the MS Gulf Coast. Everybody is getting along and no one really cares about who they are sitting next to or who they are doing business with. All seems great with the world and life is good. Then, in twighlight zone fashion, "Meanwhile in Mississippi" takes our characters through a series of alternate realities that catapult them from excitement to fear and eventually to a deadly chaos.—Tammy Devin
Written in response to HB1523, Mississippi's 'religious accommodations' law, otherwise known as the 'bathroom bill', the 'cake law', and 'Mississippi's gay hate bill'. Meanwhile in Mississippi is meant to show the ramifications of setting a legal precedent that allows the state to sanction the discrimination of select citizens under the guise of religious freedom.
