This is no Tool Time or Everyone loves Raymond family friendly comedy.
Nor is this a Married with Children, Absurd reality disfunctional comedy.
What Bleak does well is show a 30 something with no prospects and very quickly no job. It highlights the tension between a self interested family, who are a little divided in wanting to care for their grown daughter but would prefer to be drinking another bottle of Champagne. With their own daughter who is oblivious to others and would rather live in her utopia.
Not a normal comedy and absolutely gorgeous.
