Somewhat of a let down

I was really impressed by the first episode, the tension and threat were very subtle, everything was underplayed, the menace very subtle. In this part they opted for more obvious horror, focusing on gore and terror.

What was done was done well, the acting cannot be faulted, Daniel Ryan I thought was a cut above, he does villainy tremendously well, and his crazed psycho turn here was incredibly well done, I believed in every angry moment. I thought Faye Ripley was great, after a fairly flat outing in the first episode, she was really able to shine.

The acting was fine, I suppose the credibility was the issue for me, I found several parts of this one just impossible to believe, I'm more then happy to suspend belief, but within reason, some of this just didn't add up, I know this is a few years ago, but I'm sure the French Police were more capable then shown to be here.

A gory conclusion, worthy of a horror movie. I'll give it its dues though, kept me on the edge of my seat.

A mixed bag, if you can suspend all belief you'll enjoy it. 6/10
