The CNN Originals hub debuted on Discovery+ on Friday, as the new home for the news channel’s streaming library following the abrupt closure of CNN+.
The hub was announced earlier this month, and features over 800 episodes of content from CNN Original Series, CNN Films, and Hln Original Series. Additional content will be added after their linear run on the CNN cable networks.
Some of the original content that appeared on CNN+ has popped up elsewhere. The documentary The Last Movie Stars, about Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, debuted this summer on HBO Max. Chris Wallace’s talk show, one of the marquee offerings, will return in September on CNN on Sunday nights and on HBO Max.
Among the original library titles offered on the new hub are 1968: The Year That Changed America, American Dynasties: The Kennedys, American Style, Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown (Seasons 1-12), The Bush Years: Family, Duty, Power,...

Looks like September is premiere month on CNN. The network just announced the premiere dates for new seasons of Declassified: Untold Stories of American Spies and This Is Life with Lisa Ling.
A docuseries, Declassified "gives viewers unprecedented access to the riveting and secret world of espionage." Meanwhile, This Is Life follows host Lisa Ling as she investigates current issues facing America such as benzodiazepine addiction, women in the military, and gangs.

The Cable News Network is about to have fewer interruptions.
“Select CNN programming” will soon follow in the footsteps of truTV, TNT, Adult Swim and Turner Sports with limited commercials, Turner announced Wednesday at its 2018 Upfronts presentation in New York.
“In 2015, Turner’s truTV was the first television network to announce limited commercial interruption within its programming and has since announced that by 2021 its entire total-day programming will be adopting the format,” the Time Warner-owned company said in a press release.

That limited commercial interruption initiative has since expanded to other networks in the Turner portfolio, including TNT, Adult Swim and Turner Sports. “It will soon make its way to select CNN programming,” the press release said.
