Not impressed, sounds very generic and for the sake of it

There is not really any need to elaborate in depth about what "Beyond the Shadows: The Making of Shadowhunters" is about as the really long title summarizes it fairly well. It is a collection of interviews (mostly with the cast) about the television series Shadowhunters that was still really new when this 21-minute documentary came out back in 2015 and it is still running today I believe. I personally have not only not seen a single episode from the show, but admittedly not even heard of it until now. And honestly, what I saw in here does not make me curious at all to check it out any time soon. It sounds as generic as forgettable to me. Poor man's small screen version of Twilight heavily influenced by garbage programs like Pretty Little Liars or The Vampire Diaries. If you like the likes of these, then you will probably like this one too, but you should seriously think about your taste. The documentary we have here also offers really nothing informative as I am sure everything you hear in this one will be obvious to you quickly when watching the show. So it is probably only worth checking out for the very biggest "Shadowhunters" fans. Oh yeah, the casting directors added Caucasians, Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, so it fits in well with the diversity tendency of our time. I just hope they don't forget quality. Oh yeah maybe that one can be found in the gay-themed story line in here. No fringe group left behind. 4 stars out of 10 is pretty generous. Don't watch.
