A Sad Ending
Hitchcoc15 January 2019
Annie is dead. She has been stabbed in the street. Of course, Banks is devastated. He had finally hooked up with her; she had decided to leave her husband. This causes Banks to go crazy. He figures the guy he has sought revenge on forever is behind her killing. He is utterly out of control, ignoring anything those around him can advise. Morton is now a DCI and he treats her like teenage. One more episode in this series.

It's not fair

Warning: Spoilers
When this episode was broadcast, it had yet to be announced that DCI Banks would not return for a sixth series, not even a wrap-up of some sorts. Also, it was shocking that Annie was killed off. I cannot understand why DCI Banks wasn't renewed by ITV. It's in the awful tradition of outstanding British police dramas being axed for no rational reason, like Inspector Lynley and The Coroner.

All the self loathing and blame....

....that Doofus Banks is putting on himself because of Annie's death is completely deserved and appropriate. If he hadn't been a total prat dismissing her theories and suspicions about Richards and his wife, she would still be alive. Tompkinson's Banks is as inept as Clueseau without any humor or redeeming qualities of any kind. Absolutely a horrid character.

I'm going to finish this rubbish show tonight so I can delete it from my HDD and promptly forget it. The worst British detective show I've ever seen.
