Another great episode with memorable moments

Phillip and Elizabeth undertake a particularly nasty sting operation.

This is another very strong episode with some quite memorable sequences.

The story as always mixes plot and character development. I think it's all very compelling but one scene feels a little bit contrived to push a plot line and character arc in a certain direction. However that doesn't take away the fact that it's very well done.

I loved the scene at the dinner table. The Americans do these scenes very well and it always makes for great awkward humour. The only series that does dinner time interaction to this standard (and even more entertaining) is The Sopranos.

Some of the dialogue between Pastor Tim and Elizabeth is very interesting and it works so well with everything going on in the lives of the main characters.

The cinematography and editing are excellent as ever and all performances are as strong as ever. Noah Emmerich stood out for me in one great scene between Stan and Oleg.

Great episode, but...

I am really getting tired of Paige, she just keep on getting worse and more & more stupid. Her reactions are stupid & Holly Taylor's facial expressions are just getting way too old. I mean, girl, is there something else you can do except for half-opening your mouth, moving your lower lip like 3 inches from your mouth and looking like you have an IQ of about 55? Dear Lord, that is so hard to watch, episode after episode, year after year! I mean, I know Holly Taylor was young back then but she has 0 talent for acting, no feeling, like a robot repeating the same facial expressions in 100 different situations! Hope Paige gets killed off soon, I really can't watch her anymore. Btw, I love The Americans and I just adore Matthew & Keri, they know how to act.

So many moving parts, expertly handled

Warning: Spoilers
'Dinner for Seven' goes out with one of those infuriating endings; that lousy feeling where the screen goes black, you're praying it's just a commercial break . . . but no, it's the credits. That is the mark of superb television.

Aside from (seemingly) bringing to a close the Don Seong story (poor damn Don) there are three incredible set pieces here. One, a simple conversation between Beeman and Burov, with the former recalling all the people he's lost in this fight. Two, a dinner scene, all-too- brief, but loaded with tension and veiled dialogue. And third, an out-of-nowhere mugging that shows Paige her mother's horrifying self-defense moves.

This is an excellent episode that seems to hit all of the emotions. It's sad, dramatic, exciting, funny and shocking.

One of the show's best.
