Darrel Mitchell (Brad) and Diana Rose (Darla) are married in real life.
The movie was filmed in an AlphaGraphics printshop in North Austin. The owner of the store plays the man wanting to bring his grandson to work in the hiring scene. If you look, you can see the AG logo on items all around the store.
In the opening scene, Maggie is distracted by the cutter breaking down in the background. The night before shooting started, the cutter really broke down, and the broken piston can be seen on the cutter's counter in a few scenes. All scenes involving actual cutting were done a few weeks after principal shooting was completed.
Director Greg Dorchak worked in the quick print and publishing fields for 27 years. He started at age 18 in college at a 24-hour Kinko's (Graveyard shift) across the street from UNLV in Las Vegas.
Maggie's car in the movie was the director's daughter's car. The car that was supposed to be used was unavailable the first night, so a replacement was needed, and she was on set.
