The film has not been without controversy, as some Spanish movie theaters have canceled the premiere, calling it pornographic, for containing some explicit sex sequences. They called it pornographic because it openly showed an erect male sex, while the female protagonist, sometimes dressed and other times naked, asked a man to masturbate in front of her.
"Basically what's in the sequence are penises in close-up and men masturbating and she in her clothes. In truth, the treatment of the scene is super feminist," said the film's director, Roberto Doveris, between surprised and resigned.
