Incredible an touching story
julieandreassen17 May 2021
This movie is about a young girl, who is diagnosed with a rare type of cancer at age seventeen. She hides it in the begining until she's at a breaking point. This has the symbolic of our everyday life... No matter what people will find out that you are struggling and they're ready to help you!

You get the real feelgood feeling when watching this movie but also the harsh reality and the real story. It was made romantic in a good way and not to cheesy

A life well lived and loved
Gordon-1130 August 2017
This film tells the story of a young woman who is diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer at the age of seventeen. She keeps on fighting with the greatest support from her friends and family.

"Kiss and Cry" is a really beautiful film. The characters are all beautiful within and without. Carly's brave spirit is inspirational. The fact that her family, classmates and friends support her throughout the battle is very touching. The haircut campaign is tear jerking.

There are a lot of scenes that makes people smile as well. It is great that they can make a comedy out of changing a tracheostomy tube. The big dinner at the end makes me happy too.

It is a beautiful film. The fact that Carly's real life friends plays her shows how courageous and loving Carly's friends are. It was a short life, but a life well lived and loved.

Inspirational and Full of Hope
daymonperry31 May 2020
Just watched "His Fatal Fixation" (I think it was called, not sure, she is so good in that too) and heard about this movie.

I came here after reading a bit about the circumstances of the life of a amazing young woman and her world.

Yes, the movie was inspirational and full of hope, which is too bad, when it should of been like the actual events, life enforcing and a magnificent life lived.

The movie (script) was cheesey and awkward at times, but at times hit (probably accidentally, like the hospital scene) so I'll say poignant and real here and there. Real life can be that way too.

In defense of this presentation it was probably a rushed production fettered to a so so script (took itself too seriously _all the time,_ jittery timeline/ events, could of implemented the romance dialog so much better / entertaining forgoing the so worn out cliches etcetera).

The guy (love interest) had difficult (poorly written) lines to deal with and his part should of been more of a consistent rock always (like the dad was written) there instead of the silly drama they wrote in there that was a time waster in such an important story.

Overall I can see how this romance as scripted was diverging for some commenting here.

But the actor actually did well and with a better script could of shined.

Actually the cast was very competent but somewhat failed by a script that hit all the worn cliches.

Actress was tremendous and I could feel her. Productions and producers should pick up on this actress before the chance is lost.

I think Carley's story, from various articles and narritives from those that knew her, was more a fighter, doer and life liver rather than the hope dripping requiem sense of this movie. We all die, have a set time limit, and I get the feeling Carley lived her allotted timeline ferociously.

Not the casts fault (they were excellent) or the overall production, as I've harped to death, the script (in spite of a great subject and probably lots of factual and emotional input) let them and us down.

I mean this as this movie was good, but a thing that could of been magnificently rendered as the true events.

Touching story

Great acting especially Sarah Fisher playing her friend made it even better. I'm sure she actually felt the experience herself. This film is a tear jerker.

An Incredible Tribute To An Amazing Girl
janick_gers_clone7 November 2017
I watched this film not knowing it was a true story, what makes this film so powerful is everything that went into it. The story is of a girl with a rare form of cancer who fights it keeping a positive mind and body, even with a trachea tube she still sings, skates and fights to the end. The locations are Carley's home, her school, the hospital she was in and she is played by a close friend Sarah Fisher. There are no words to describe how delicately this film is executed, the director Sean Cisterna created a masterpiece, a truly wonderful execution of the life of an amazing girl. The entire cast should be proud of themselves, the family, the friends, her skating coach, it felt so real. I never knew Carley but at the end of this movie I now know I won't ever forget her. Some musicians look up to Bach or Beethoven, Boxers to Muhammed Ali, Climbers to Edmund Hilary. There's not enough words allowed in a review to say how much this movie and Carley moved me, other than I found the person to lookup to. My parents brought me into this world, Carley taught me how to live in it. Always Smile!

Love the sotry but not the filming choices
samsamdeboer12 January 2019
The movie made a weird choice to let the main character speak to the camera. This was a weird choices because it was not from te start like that. It was because of that hard for me to live with the character

Annoying narrations
aytac_koca29 December 2018
The story on its own was good, but I couldn't enjoy the movie since the very start because of the comments the main personage was giving towards the camera during the complete movie. Everytime I thought 'now the movie got me and I am about to start enjoy', the girl turns towards the camera and starts giving narrations. Very annoying and giving no space for own imagination...

I'm a 23 year old guy and I loved it!
Kamil_An16 March 2021
First of all, the actors have done one heck of a job performing in this movie. The way they treat one another is absolutely heartwarming! The encouragement and love and anything related to a positive emotion was put on the screen for you to grab and "co-live" it (feel as if you're part of the family). Sarah Fisher and Luke Bilyk literally outdone themselves as Carley and John. A believable and heart gripping piece of story that was of course based on real events. A very high 10/10.

It's complete crap. The acting sucks, and doesn't feel believable at all. The narration was the most annoying and stupid choice in this movie. I can't feel sympathy for the main person because she said everything like she was reading from a book out loud in class. It's just awkward. Like jeez... nobody wants to hear dat bro. Like it Just feels so forced....

Inspiring story but
dinarsalem10 August 2020
Carley Allison is an inspiring young lady and the movie is a tribute to her.

But why the narrations?! Runied everything.

Also not sure what happened during prom. The moving seemed abruptly cut in there.

An Inspiring young girl
natashaw-5253620 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I watched this film and loved it. But I didn't realise it was a true story until the end when they showed original videos of Carley skating and singing during the credits. A lovely, inspiring and very talented young girl who was ripped from those around her.

I really wanted to like this.
alex_i-305193 December 2020
I really wanted to like this because of the subject matter, its a true story about a real girl that sadly got cancer. However, ive managed half an hour and im turning it off. It is CRINGE worthy. The acting is awful, it feels like a really bad B movie (channel 5 movie comes to mind). Its so cheesy its making my eyes roll every 2 minutes. What a shame to make such a bad movie about a real girl who was very inspirational, I almost feel guilty for leaving a bad review but its the WORST.

Beautiful film...
RosanaBotafogo26 June 2022
Sean Cisterna, specialist in making us cry with biographies of sports girls who suffer from life's adversities, beautiful film, for those who like to get emotional, it hurts, but it's a great example of strength and determination, @carleyelleallison kisses and tears, and always smile, that's about it... And her best friend doing starring in the movie, just right...

Great movie
kadencekiersten11 January 2021
All the people complaining about the narration those were put in there cause they are carley's real words. When Sarah read from the notebook she was reading what Carley had written that was actually Carley's notebook. They wanted to make sure Carley was "in" the movie not just making a movie about her life. Carley was Sarah's best friend. I loved the narration cause it put Carley in the movie instead of it being just about her life.

Inspiring legacy
cwqkqmq10 March 2022
As I watched this true story unfold in the movie, I thought of Carly as such an upbeat and awesome person. There should be more like her to make this world a better place.

I have to believe she had to know Jesus because true joy comes from knowing Him. Happiness is based on our circumstances. Therefore, her attitude to choose joy and always smile leads me to realize more Christians could take lessons from Carly. Her gifts and talents shown in the movie are amazing! But her spirit is her greatest asset throughout her life. I want that to be my legacy: for people to remember my smile and positive attitude, but above all to see Jesus in me.
