Too many unresolved details
imwiththou-325583 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I can see a very hard, diligent trying of Singaporean movie directing this production, however there are too many details remained unresolved at the end, not to mention that the ending was abrupt and forceful.

The death of the night guard's dog - is there any symbolic meaning behind it?

The coming out of Sam (auntie's son) was too shallow and lack of profoundness. Despite the face that it had tried hard to pay tribute to LGBTQ+ group, there is a lot more director can try expand on this topic in the movie.

The lack of resolution of the tour guide - what happened to him after being sacked? Did he manage to pay back the loan sharks? Why he changed outfit (and had a new haircut too) while showing up to send auntie off at the airport? Are these hints from director or just careless arrangement?

An acceptable movie but there are just too many unresolved details.

Our Life has full of stress.

This movie give Singaporeans way relex.

Feel warm, It s family movie.

Asian more over Human have feeling about family comfort.

This is good for Family.

For your father, Mother, and Chilren.

This movie not like blockbuster movie.

Story line shows regularly episodes and go on.

We live different place, different languages, different foods, but when we talk about life, family, it is human thing, same.

In my case, I like trip Singapore, johibaru, to KL.

Always want to understand Malaysian and Singaporeans.

This movie give to me Understanding what Singaporeans think, live there life by this Korea tour episode.

Learn Chises is not easy but Movie like this shows Culture about Singaporeans.

It's good for me and many people who live other cultures and country.

Excellent "Down to earth" movie
jackkoh-5773314 November 2022
Excellent movie. Excellent acting. Excellent storyline that many can relate easily. Depict the true possible surprise situations an ernest excitable tourist may run into and the kindness of strangers that makes bad encounters turn out well instead.

The Singaporean and Korean actors, in spite of different cultures, work so well together.

The movie has all the positive ingredients that make it fun to watch: humor, family, responsibility, generosity, friendship, compassion, love for the human races.

The movie selectively depicted some interesting touristy scenes in South Korea. This was well presented without "overselling" them to prospective visitors to South Korea. Five stars !!

A primary school composition made into a movie
reconarmor28 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This movie had the potential to be something more but falls flat due to incompetent writing.

Premise : A singaporean aunty goes on a family trip to Korea and some bad things happen to her, but she makes friends along the way.

The writers of this movie set up several sub-plots that all lead to nowhere and remain unresolved, leaving the viewer extremely puzzled by the end of the film. Such as the tour guide being estranged from his wife and child, owing money to loansharks, and chemistry that the aunty and korean uncle develop.

While on her trip her son reveals to her that he's homo and will stay in the US with his boyfriend indefinitely, leaving her all alone in Singapore. You'd think that this is a major turning point for our protagonist but no, nothing happens after that. It's just a thing that happens for no reason. In the end she heads back home at the end of her 5 day tour and goes back to living her normal life but alone at home and with some wooden figurines that arrive in the mail.

There are some scenes that the director intends to be emotional and heartfelt that just come off as cringe and hilarious.

Visually the movie is decent, the colour tone and backdrops are beautiful, but that's most likely due to Korea being Korea and not by any talent of the Director and writers.

RIP Dookie, your death served no purpose to the plot.

A disrespect to Korea
Gleunji13 May 2023
With all the hype, I expect it to be decent. But it's no better than Jack Neo worst film. The premise seem very Oscar baity, but you can't expect much from Singaporean writers. The writers doesn't take advantage of it being Korea, just throwing a Singapore base storyline into Korea. Only advantage of being in Korea is that the Korean Actors are the one carrying the film.

Almost 2/3 into the film the storyline started to move to a place and then ended almost instantly without resolving anything. Really a mess. Then the writer decided to make the Son gay for absolute no reason.

Being either a local or a foreigner, watching such movie with endless of cringe and poor acting from the Main Actress is really a Disgrace to Singapore and Insult to other Actresses.
