The half demolished church in the film was shot at two locations: Nunhead Cemetery Chapel (which has no roof!) was used for the exterior, with the interior shot at the nearby Asylum Chapel, both in Southwark.
The film originally premiered in 2017 at the Edinburgh International Film Festival, but did not receive a U.S. release until 2020 when Saban Films picked it up during the COVID-19 pandemic. The actors Orlando Bloom and Janet Montgomery were really surprised when the film finally got picked up, as many years had passed and they thought it'd never see the light of day.
Film loosely based on experiences from the screenwriter Geoff Thompson's life.
Orlando Bloom had read only the first three pages of the script and knew he wanted to take on the role.
Orlando Bloom had recently lost his dog before the film's release and was pleasantly surprised to get numerous text messages the morning after the film's release, all about the critical acclaim for his performance.
