Awesome idea
BandSAboutMovies8 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
In the world of Kryptonita, Superman (Juan Palomino) - referred to as Nafta Super - didn't end up in Smallville but instead wound up in La Matanza (The Slaughter), a crime-ridden slum near Buenos Aires. Instead of the gleaming Justice League of America, he and his fellow superheroes have become the Nafta Super Gang, robbing rich banks to feed the poor.

Wonder Woman is the transgender Lady Di (Lautaro Delgado), Green Lantern is Faisán (Nicolás Vázquez), The Flash is Ráfaga (Diego Cremonesi), Martian Manhunter J'onn J'onzz is Juan Raro (Carca), Batman is El Federico (Pablo Rago) and Hawkgirl - possibly included as this was made when the JLA cartoon was big - is Cuñatai Güirá (Sofia Palomino).

As they battle the police and other gangs - including one led by this Earth's Lex Luthor, El Pelado - a piece of kryptonite weakens Nafta Super and as he's operated on, the cops, the gangs and supervillains Corona (Diego Capusotto) who is the Joker - a police negotiator in this world - and Oficial Cabeza de Tortuga (Pablo Pinto) who is Doomsday try to kill him off once and for all as Dr. Gonzales tries to keep Nafta Super alive until morning.

Based on Leo Oyola's novel, scripted by Camilo De Cabo, Nicolás Britos, Paula Manzone and director Nicanor Loreti, Kryptonita is a super-powered Assault On Precinct 13 and a way to show Western audiences that these superheroes now belong to everyone. It may not have the CGI of its way more expensive inspiration, but it has something more: big ideas and heart.

Most of the cast returned in a TV series sequel, Nafta Super, which adds La Mishi (Catwoman), La Jabru (Zatanna), The Glass (Mirror Master), Harley Quinn, Oracle, Sabiola (Brainiac), Javier (Robin), The Executor (Deadshot), Demented Snail (Green Arrow), Tigress of the West (Cheetah), Boquita (Black Canary), Artillery (Deathstroke), Lulu (Carol Ferris), Unicorn Girl (Vixen) and Backpack Flamethrower Man (Firefly).

doesn't deliver the punch thats required
SpannersGerm6694 December 2016
Being a massive fan of Niconar Loreti, I have to say that i was very excited coming into Kryptonita, considering that i loved his other film "Diablo". Being its own version of the Justice League, the movie had the recipe for success, but unfortunately after it comes out of the oven, somehow it just doesn't taste very good. Creativity within a tired story is definitely the films strong point. Taking creative liberties while still being true to its source material, will not have fans insulted, but where it fails is its lack of interest. I have read here on IMDb from one reviewer that Kryptonita is a much more real look at superheroes, and this here, in my opinion, is the problem. With nothing much happening during the run time, I believe the movie poster and trailer are very misleading. Instead of delivering a fast paced, crazy and fun action hero movie, it is more of a character drama with superhero elements in it, which will leave the majority of movie goers feeling short changed! If you want a good movie from Niconar Loreti, try "Diablo" and probably skip this one and go and watch Civil War for a much more entertaining superhero experience!

Brilliant alternative version of Justice League, in underground Argentina
guisreis22 October 2016
The movie is extremely smart, is developed from a brilliant idea, and has numerous references to the famous superheroes from DC spectators need to pay attention not to lose any of them. If those superpowerful guys had not been born in the United States but in a poor area near Buenos Aires, they would be antiheroes from Nafta Super Gang, who rob banks and help the poor (is that less heroic than Justice League? or perhaps more?...), and are enemies of another gang lead by a bald gangster (Lex, off course) and fight corrupt Bonaerense police where bad guys like Crown (amazing Joker portrayed by always brilliant comedian Capusotto) and Turtle Head (Doomsday) work. The superheroes represented are Flash, Wonder Woman (amazing idea and outcome!), Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, Superman, Batman and Martian Manhunter. Not only their clothes, jewelry, tattoos and hairstyle, but also their backgrounds are references to original superheroes in a very entertaining way, some of them combined with unique innovations. Although the film is more realistic than most superhero films, and that they mention more than show their superpowers, these are real and appear when they need them.

argentinian justilce league, with alot of jokes
Cinema2kMendoza21 February 2022
This is the version alot of people we are proud.features alot of good actors and takes the risk of using every justice league hero and villain, but set in argentina.

So alot of jokes are easy to get, and alot of the dialogue is funny because is based in the real justice league, but made here with the best actors we have.

Needs a better rating and more people to find it and enjoy it.
