Is there a Frank? Questioning the existence of god
spacehistorian2 November 2015
Warning: Spoilers
King Julien does a brilliant job of exploring cultural issues while still being an entertaining animated kids program. "All Hail King Julien: Are You There, Frank? It's Me, King Julien" tackles the problem of blind faith and the deleterious effect it has on a society. There are people and institutions who will use the god belief of people to manipulate and control them for their own benefit. Not everyone has a Mort to save them. This is a series you need to start from the beginning to fully appreciate. The writers have crafted the series to give each character full and interesting narratives. Even the minor characters have distinct personalities and the writers keep them consistent. The silliness keeps the kids happy and the ingenious cultural references and jokes keeps the adults coming back for more.
