It all started with a hashtag: #GiveDivasAChance. Sick of two or three minute filler matches which didn’t allow the women involved to showcase their talents, the WWE Universe made their voices heard and demanded change. Unfortunately, it never really went much further than airing contests with a commercial break in them, but Stephanie McMahon later calling up some of Nxt’s finest and announcing a Revolution appeared to be the step in the right direction we’d all been waiting for.
Now, a few months on, it’s fair to look at the whole Divas Revolution and say…what a f***ing wast of time.
What should have been a turning point for the women of WWE has been poorly handled by the WWE on a number of levels, and as things currently stand, it’s near impossible to imagine it being salvaged. Watching Nxt each week (and...

After witnessing the Iron Woman main event match to last night’s WWE Nxt TakeOver: Respect, the Iwc has only question:
“Who’s been cutting all these damn onions?”
With the theme of respect resounding throughout the night, both in tribute to the late, great American Dream, and in relation to the public elevation of women’s wrestling as a blockbuster draw in today’s industry, emotions were running high at Full Sail, with many and manly and womanly tear shed. The storytelling was simply on fire.
It was a wall-to-wall fantastic night of wrestling too, as fans have come to expect from Nxt specials, the 2-and-a-bit running time speeding past like a freight train. Hardened critics will be able to find some grumbles with the night – hybrid teams of solo stars like Rhyno & Corbin overcoming established teams like Gable & Jordan is a little hard to swallow – but...

Nxt TakeOver: Respect was broadcast live on the WWE Network and proved to be another big success for the Nxt brand. Respect was a solid show from start to finish so there are plenty of winners that are being talked about from this card.
In a broad sense, women’s wrestling was definitely one of the biggest winners from this event. The spectacle of a main event Iron Man match for the Nxt Women’s Championship is a milestone in modern day women’s wrestling.
