- You are my son; today I have become your father...
- Ireland, 1949. The country is still in recovery after the fallout from WW2. Poverty is still evident on the doorstep of many homes especially those in rural areas. The church's grip on the nation is stronger than ever, it's power and influence is immense.
A young father pleads with this power in an effort to save the soul of his deceased son but it falls on deaf ears and he must chose to bury his only son, under the cover of darkness, away from Canon Authority. It will be a moment of despair and anger and it is this anger that grows inside him now, anger and resentment aimed at those that would not allow his sons soul to be freed. He will not forgive nor will he forget the pain that he has endured as he searches for a reason why God has chosen to ignore him.
