On the 100th anniversary of Einstein's General Relativity.

Warning: Spoilers
I watched this, twice actually, on PBS's NOVA programming. I am a Scientist, educated in Maths and Physics, so I have always admired and had at least a general interest in Albert Einstein. However I wonder how interesting this program would be to a non-science person?

Well I found every minute of it thoroughly interesting and at times even entertaining. The film uses an actor, Hamza Ripley, as Albert Einstein in his 30s working on his theories. He doesn't have any lines but his looks and costuming remind us very much of Einstein at that age.

The script has modern day Physicists and Mathematicians explaining Einstein's process, especially his use of "thought experiments", to sort out ideas and to formulate his world-changing theories of the universe, many of which have since then been verified via scientific experimentation.

It is hard to overstate how important Einstein's theories are, and how great an achievement it was for one person working and thinking on his own to come up with what amounts an entirely new way of thinking about things. It makes me wonder, what would the world be like today had Einstein never come along?

And let us never forget Einstein's quote, "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over but expecting a different result."

Good program.

The finest and most enjoyable film of its kind

I can't explain it anymore than I can explain the math behind the Theory of General Relativity, but Nova's biopic of Einstein and how he came to develop his world-altering theories is THE most informative, enlightening and enjoyable film on science I have ever seen.

Perhaps I am not qualified to provide an un-biased review here, as I have viewed it over 90 times to date. However the overall production, writing, presentation, music track, editing and mysterious tone of I.E.M. is absolutely addictive. I honestly don't know how the producers of Nova did it and quite the task it was to condense the creative, personal and professional life of one of the smartest humans to ever live into a brief one hour special.

The presenters, scientists and astrophysicists all, illustrate Einstein's life in a series of staggering and intellectually gripping anecdotes. I now have the very basic mathematical formula for General Relativity committed to memory, compliments to Dr. Robbert DiGraaf, Director of the Institute for Advanced Research at Princeton. This is quite a feat, as I couldn't explain it in 100 lifetimes and you're looking at someone who failed Freshman high school algebra. But this is an example of just how impressive this film is.

I cannot recommend "Inside Einstein's Mind" high enough. I shall continue to view it, as it has become my default show to stream in my studio.

Good overview of Einstein's work

7/16/18. If you don't know much about Einstein, then this is worth catching. It pretty much explains Einstein's theories, and what a genius he was. An interesting factoid is the use of Einstein's theory in our use of GPS (geo-positioning systems) to find our way around this planet. Without Einstein we would be forever lost, unless you know how to read a compass.
