After the revelation that Carrie was the target of the attack in Lebanon she has returned to Germany and started to ponder who might have a motive to want her deadÂ… it isn't long before the list is very long. Having sent her daughter back to the States she heads to a remote cottage with her boyfriend and tell him that she has stopped taking her medication; claiming that her mind is sharper when she is off themÂ… unfortunately that also makes her increasingly manic.
Back in Berlin Saul is trying to find Carrie and dealing with having the station chief trying to go behind his back in order to save her position in Germany. Having decided that he needs her there he will have to find somebody else to be sacrificed to appease the Germans who are still furious that their link to the CIA was exposed. Quinn is also closing in on his next target.
So far this season Carrie has been quite rational but it isn't long after she stops taking her medication that things start to change; Claire Danes does a great job depicting Carrie as she becomes more and more manic. Alexander Fehling does a solid job as her boyfriend Jonas as he must come to terms with what Carrie has done in the past, deal with her increasingly irrational state and the realisation that whoever is after her might target those close to him to get to her. This part of the story is tense even before the potential threat arrives in the episode's gripping conclusion. The part of the story involving Saul and Station Chief Allison Carr is also interesting even though it is essentially office politics. Overall another solid episode that will leave the viewer keen to see what happens next.
